Went into the store and one of the end caps was deceptive in it's sale pricing. I couldn't see that it was only certain items because products were blocking out the smaller print on the bottom. I get to the register and it's scanning for a different price, and I tell the cashier that it said it was on sale. I offered to go back and take a photo of it, but she sent a young AA guy. They both had bad attitudes about it. He came back and was showing me the price on the upc sticker under the item. I kept saying that, no, it had a big sign at the top of the end cap that everything was on sale. I finally said that I wouldn't have gotten 2 of them if they weren't on sale, because I could one larger box for cheaper than 2 separate smaller ones, but with the same count of items. Not once did either of them try to explain what the mix up was. I finally just said that I was going to just get the larger box then. There wasn't anyone behind me in line, or I would've said to cancel it out until I took a second look. Eye rolling, huffing, slamming of products had been happening this whole time.
When I walked back to grab the larger box, I stood on my tip toes, moved some products so I could get a pic of the sign. That's when I saw the smaller print. I get back in line, and I APOLOGIZED for the mix up, and explained it to her and the guy. More eye rolling and attitude, but not one word was said to me. I may as well have been invisible.
IF they had taken the 2 seconds to look at the sign I was speaking about, this could've been resolved in less than a minute. Or, if they had agreed to me going back the first time like I offered to, and taken a photo, I would've seen my mistake.
Customers make mistakes just like employees and the computer system. BUT, that's not an excuse for rolling your eyes and huffing at customers, having an attitude, scrunching their faces up like someone just pooped on their front step, and then blatantly ignoring the customer and refusing to speak to the customer.
I wasn't expecting much, but, hell, at least acknowledge the customer when they're apologizing and explaining what the mix up was.
This was the worst experience I've ever had at food lion, and Everytime I go in, this lady rolls her eyes at me. WTH?! I wasn't even going to leave a bad review, but it's...
Read moreOh I went there! Three times in 5 days! The staff - friendly The cleanliness - yup, they had that The prices - normal (a few sale items made it into my cart too!) I would/will go back, and not just because it's the closest grocery store to my home. Well, that is a huge part of it actually... proximity. I'll tell you what though I actually had nothing left to say.
love Love LOVE Food Tiger.
Sept 2022 UPDATE! -
It's still there. So 2 days ago I waited in line for 20+ minutes(!) I'm not one of those people who just writes reviews to complain though because that's super lame. That's not my typical experience there so you know what? 5 star rating still applies. Trousers.
Feb 2023 (up)date -
Rolled up for some protein powder and Greek yogurt. They didn't have my usual brand of protein (protein!) So i got the store brand stuff. Not bad at all! In fact, it's good! 20% less expensive and it has creatine to help me get straight jacked. The lady at the checkout - super friendly/pleasant/helpful. I'll...
Read moreStore is clean but there are always long lines, I have never seen more than 3 check out lanes open at a time. You can get your shopping done quick, get in grab what you need..but then you stand in line for an absorbent amount of time. And no one honors the 12 items or less checkout lane either.
Also, you legit risk two things outside of the store: Your life, every time you come to this Food Lion. People speed past with absolutely no regard to the fact that it is a shopping center and pedestrians have the right of way. I often wonder if the one security guy in the car (that just sits and parks in the far corner of the shopping center, you know, where there are no cars or people...or businesses) is a volunteer...no way he gets paid to do his job. You risk catching a contact high getting in or out of your vehicle. It smells like a reggae festival in the Food Lion parking lot ALWAYS.
I hate bringing my kids here to go grocery shopping because they risk getting hit by a car and catching a contact...
