Had a really phenomenal experience here. Was in the market for a new snowboard and was really hesitant about dropping $$$ for gear without making sure it was just right. First time I came here I was paired with Mike who went above and beyond and was super knowledgeable/helpful. He spent as much time with us as needed and also helped my friend with a rental even though they were closing soon. Second time I came back because I wanted to bring my old snowboard in and I got paired with Sam. He spent as much time as necessary letting me debate back and forth (I’m indecisive, lol). I don’t think I’ve ever spoken with someone as knowledgeable about snowboards as Sam was. He literally knew everything. I can’t tell you how much of a difference it made. I feel so confident with my new setup and I know if there was anything that didn’t feel right on the slopes, they’d take care of it. Also, for what it’s worth, the retail level is outstanding as well. We’ve been there maybe 3 times in the past week and there’s always an employee who offers to help us within a minute of walking through the door. For a place like this that sells technical gear, this is so important and makes such a difference. They have a reservation system that ensures you get quality time with a staff member and also limits the amount of people up there with you. So not only is the service great, but their pandemic protocol is also top tier. I’m so grateful for the effort they’ve put in to making this such a great experience and will be recommending to all my friends and family. Thank you guys!!
If we’re talking comparisons - don’t waste your time at REI if you’re looking specifically for ski/snowboard related gear. Outdoor Sport had everything they had + a lot more. REI also doesn’t sell boards in store. Rotary in Stratford probably had an inventory of snowboards in particular that may have rivaled Outdoor Sport, but lacked in the abundant customer service...
Read moreI have been meaning to write a review for a long time, I use Outdoor Sport Center for all my winter needs which are fairly large. Personally, I snowboard in some great spots. For example every year I go to Cordova AK to heliboard with the points north team. Every year there are a few guests that have gear issues, I am never one of them. The team at OSC get my board ready and on point, they also started selling Never Summer boards which in my view are the best. OSC's team really go out of their way, I bought the wrong bindings for my split board and they sent them back to manufacturer for me and got the right ones. The line up of brands they have is just amazing, you will not find a better selection anywhere. If you're looking for deals their tent sale at the end of the season is where I buy a lot of my non essential gear. They did a great job on my daughters gear, and the price for ski rentals is amazing. I do not see how they make money on it but i guess that is not my problem. The most important point i will make here is, you need your stuff to fit and feel comfortable, do NOT save 5% buying on the internet only to have you and your family not using the right gear and thus not enjoying your...
Read moreOutdoor Sports really is tops for service. I recently had new brakes installed on my bike at a different bike shop that is fairly well known, but the brakes weren't right. I knew it, but I'm not a mechanic and have a hard time articulating the issue. I took it in to the other shop twice and both times was told that the issue was normal. I just knew it wasn't but kept riding until one day a friend suggested I take it to Slav at Outdoor Sports to get his opinion. Previous to this I did not know Slav or anyone at Outsoor Sports, but nonethless I walked in there cold and explained the issue. Instead of me trying to stammer my way through what was going on, he just went out to the parking lot and rode my bike. Within 10 seconds, he said that it was not normal and then explained what was going on. He ordered the right parts and swapped them out and presto brand new bike. Slav truly is the bike whisperer. Go there for bikes, go there for advice, go there to have work done on your bike. You just can't do any better in...
