this is truly a must go and see it for yourself experience there is a lot and I mean a lot of music and activities to take in so be prepared. the staff done an excellent job in the security aspect of this festival which was no easy task im sure and got the thousands of people moved in to the camp grounds as best they could in really a short amountof time the vendors were all well stocked and happy to serve us which is rare these days even the city had the park clean and mowed and for the most part the roads were in good condition there was plenty of restrooms and more then enough handicap friendly ones as well. the people were all and I mean all were like having a 2nd family with no one arguing or fussing at each other I simply didn't see anything but honest happy hard working men and women who are really what brings this festival all together i thank then all but I have a question for the local boy Scout troop and their Scout master the giant plastic tubs for aluminum can to be recycled so the troop can make some cash for their needs are a great idea my question is why are these young men not here everyday or at least a couple of days getting cans out of the few hundred trash cans that are headed to the landfill? if it's about money they would make double what they get for doing nothing and learn morals and values with a work ethic not mention meet the community people who support them orshould instead of relying on others to do the work for them I would like an explanation let's say im curious or maybe get the local girl Scouts brought in to give them some friendly competition so all of these young men and women can be proud to be apart of this wonderful life experience and be proud of this festival as the adults are .I had a great time a d and there was nothing I didn't like watching or listening to i want to thank all the performers for their amazing performances and god bless you all. (ps) I would appreciate to hear something from the boy Scouts and may pursue this topic a little bit more in my free time see you all here next year I will be back...
Read moreI love the Walnut Valley Festival. I only got a one-day ticket this year as I didn't have any vacation available, but the performers I saw were all top-notch. I missed seeing some favorites this year, only because my time was limited to one day, but I've camped and spent multiple days in attendance previous years, and hope to do so again. It revives my soul to hear beautiful music live, and no festival I've seen anywhere compares with the variety of music and diversity of crafters and artisans selling their wares than Winfield, KS the third week in September. It really is like...
Read moreHi, I have participated as an artist at this festival for 17 years now and I have been doing art and music festivals all over the country for 35 years. Ive done sturgis to the Monterrey jazz festival and this one tops them all as far as having a very positive life experience. You really do have to attend this one to "get it" . There is a saying about coming home to Winfield and it is so very true. this is an event that everyone should put on their bucket list.Once you attend once, chances are you will be hooked as most all of my friends that I have turned on...
