What I did like was it was free to get in, the 4H was nice. The animal exhibits were also well kept and clean. They had craft vendors inside by the stadium and honestly that is where I would get any drinks and food way cheaper inside than outside with the other vendors. What I did not like was the vendors way overpriced their items, the wait for a cheeseburger was over 45mins and for the price absolutely not worth it. Also did not like the way some of the patrons acted and dressed. I would not take my children there with all the swearing and the disrespectful teens that were acting up. I ran into a few that you could tell were completely under the influence of some hard drugs. I did not feel safe being there with the way some of the people were acting. I've been to many fairs and this was disappointing the way things were run. I would have liked to seen a curfew for the younger kids if they didn't have adults present to have to leave. It has worked for many fairs across the country and it helps keep the trouble makers out and overall it is a more positive family experience.

The fairgrounds: fun during the Cowley County Fair, sure, but a lot more goes on down there. Winfield is famous for our Walnut Valley Festival known, as the "blue grass festival" to locals. That happens in Sept. In October we have a terrifying haunted house in one of the barns. In August Habitat for Humanity has a big one day sale/fundraiser. Throughout the year you might find flea markets and auctions. Be sure to drive by the horse barn and the beautiful clydesdales if they are outside.

First time at the Cowley County Fair. Checked out all the 4-H animal buildings, saw some show goats, and even got to see monster trucks!

Wonderful campgrounds, home to many events. Cowley County Fair, K&O gas and steam engine show, Rock n Country Fest, Huge frisbee golf course with one of the largest gatherings of frisbee golfers in the country and of Course the Walnut Valley Festival featuring National Flat picking championship and World Finger Style championship. A superior facility that can support 10,000 plus campers and visitors. Hundreds of water and electrical hookups. Beautiful fairgrounds located along the Walnut River. There is also a boat ramp for launching small boats or kayaks. This place is...
