I like to buy in bulk, especially during the ridiculous inflation we are presently experiencing. I've been looking for a place to buy a side of beef forever, however, that comes with its own problems. You'll need $2500, a ton of freezer place, not to mention the lack of variety. There has to be a better option. That option is Bringhurst Meats.
They've got packages with beef, chicken, and pork and you can get packages of different sizes depending on your family size, financial needs, and available storage space. Price wise, it's better than the per pound price you'll pay at your local supermarket.
What about the quality? Well, now. So far we've had their chicken, their ground beef, and their pork chops. The quality is significantly better than my local grocery store. I was just looking at saving some coin. I hadn't expected the significant improvement in taste and quality.
You get what they tell you you're getting. So when they say you're getting 10 pounds of ground beef, you're getting a plastic bag filled with 10 pounds of ground beef! Plan accordingly. Their meats come wrapped in butcher paper, which my wife didn't like. Fortunately I have a vacuum sealer so it wasn't an issue. So if you dont like butcher paper, purchase freezer bags or consider a vacuum sealer.
Also, the people here are incredibly nice. From the moment you step inside to the second they load your car, friendly, professional people will handle your order. You don't get service like that anymore so enjoy it.
I grew up not far from here but I have to travel over an hour to get here now. Why? Because you can take the man out of the pines but you can't take the piney out of the man. Awesome prices. Awesome food, awesome people.
Bringhurst Meats. South Jersey's best...
Read moreThis was an experience, not just shopping! Excellent service, Al made me feel like I was an old friend getting special treatment...and looking around everyone was getting the same attention. The meats were beautiful, fresh and the tenderloin was almost like "velvet" to the touch, not stiff and dry with brown patches like the grocery store beef had become. One customer asked for a particular sausage not in the case and the person waiting on him went out to the smoker and got him some, he said it is still warm if you want to take a bite! The variety of fresh, frozen and prepared products is impressive, the pulled beef was fantastic!
I was so discouraged with the declining quality of my local grocers both in service and quality of meat and poultry. Chicken often had a bad smell and was now coming in packages pumped with gas to give a 10+ day shelf life?? Beef was mostly imported and even if there was local beef the price was extremely high for what looked mediocre at best. I did buy on occasion but the smell during cooking and the taste ended that. If I asked questions or for a specific product (both supermarket chains, assuming someone was even there) the meat dept. personnel seemed annoyed and were actually rude so I just stopped.
I left Bringhurst with a smile and feeling better than when I arrived, thank you all for your hard work, amazing one on one customer service, great quality and kindness. This was an all around experience...
Read moreI am not a regular shopper at Bringhurst like some in the area. I usually go there to buy cuts of meat for special meals I'm making. I picked up a really good 16oz strip steak and a very good cut of sirloin which was on sale for a little over $7 for a pound! My husband returned the next day to purchase some of their specialty sausage. I enjoyed the jalapeño/peach sausage. It had a great balance of spicy and sweet. My husband grilled up a couple of their Cheese Brats on the grill and they were also very flavorful. The staff there is very knowledgeable and helpful. The meat is well stocked with a lot more options than just pork or beef. You can even get bones and fresh cuts of meat for your pets! Prices are comparable or lower than what you would see at a supermarket and the meat is fresh and natural. The market also offers other items like frozen meats/seafood, salads, dairy...
