DO NOT BUY FROM HORIZON HOMES!
Their BBB accreditation was revoked due to unresolved complaints.

** This is responding to Horizonâs false claims below (My initial review is under their TN Google listing)
Horizonâs response shows exactly how they treat unhappy customers - gaslighting, misdirection, blame-shifting, taking no accountability, even with clear proof.
At some point, you have to ask what kind of legacy you're building when your business depends on deception, deflection, & exploiting those who trusted you, including seniors & the disabled. It's astonishing how easily some sleep at night knowing their profit comes at the cost of others' safety & stability. This is what it looks like when integrity is traded for gain, & victims are left holding the consequences.
For the record, I am the customer & their claim that Iâve submitted 4 reviews is false & shows theyâre confusing me with 3 other dissatisfied customers. That alone speaks volumes.
I paid 90% upfront 2+ years ago. The home remains unfinished, unsupported, & unlivable. Horizon holds the title & refuses to complete the job, preventing me from living in or selling it.
Here are just some of the issues they left me with:
~ A flimsy plastic âretaining wall" - now collapsed/split ~ Plumbing runs uphill, away from the septic, hidden under a tarp ~French drain runs uphill â 'fixed' by pushing rocks to fake correction ~ Mold under the home âfixedâ with duct tape & has spread to siding, vents, & doors. Remediation costs - $20K+ ~ Piers single-stacked (against code); 2 are over a foot off-mark, 1 missing entirely ~ Siding & fascia not attached ~ Critical areas left unsealed ~ Heat pump never installed ~ Exposed insulation around lighting & furnace (fire hazard) ~ Roof has broken/missing shingles, missing/exposed nails
The cost to make this house safe & livable now exceeds the original price. Estimates from 2 years ago started at $25K. Today, itâs over $100K, just to remove the home, regrade, re-pour footers, reset piers, & properly install the French drain.
Horizon admitted to installing the house on unprepared land, then blamed me. No ethical company would do this.
Regulatory agencies told me NOT to install the French drain because itâs the legal duty of the installer.
Nothing was âchangedâ by me. They ran the plumbing uphill, away from the septic. That âfavorâ creates serious health and safety risks, along with costly repairs.
Proudly boasting about a "$2,500â collapsing wall proves their aggressive overcharging for sub-par work. Again, please view my photos!
Citing state âapprovalâ as a defense is misleading when it was based solely on false documentation, not an in-person inspection. Horizon has publicly admitted the home was never completed or properly supported. Itâs not compliance, itâs deception & manipulation
Others reported similar structural issues, faulty installs, paying for items never delivered & Horizon knowingly omitting sales tax. Preventing buyers from titling or selling their homes. This tactic hides the true cost & shifts the legal & financial burden...
Read moreHorizon home Absolutely worst trash company my family has ever dealt with. My parents used their life savings to buy a home from them. From the beginning we made sure multiple times through multiple people within the company about the time frame of home delivery as well as what was included. Not only did my parents have to live on my couchâs for months on end but they denied everything they told us was included because they did not wright it down word for word in the contract⌠they had workers that literally told us they had no clue what they were doing and even sniffing drugs underneath the home while installing the piping ⌠they told my father that âthey had to have a bumpâ. Then one of there family members also showed up that had no clue what they were doing and was throwing up in our neighbors yard. Not to mention they were trying to give my child food and drinks and I was having to take them away from her ⌠Between all of this âŚinspection was denied, wrong piping was used and after they left it sitting and we didnât hear from them in weeks , they then had to nerve to send a text saying , oh I thought everything was done ⌠they hadnât even put the underpinning , waterlines, or heat pump in.. nothing ! Today it still sits with no gutters/ no crawl space door / no porches. Which was all discussed that was included in the price ⌠we were told we got a great deal with everything included because the home had been sitting a while ⌠then after all this is said and done, they hid the fact that they didnât include sales tax and we now owe around 4000 in taxes . The owners son stated âI donât know why they didnât charge taxes â They also said that they would come back and fix the welping siding spots and put another layer of mudding over spots ⌠they also said they would come back and clean a white residue out of the floor and never did. When people did come out they showed up around 12 pm to 2 pm and left around 3 or 4 pm. After a lot of back and fourth with James estep my mother left an honest review of what they were dealing with and he messaged her and told her to take down the review and he would do the gutters and then managed to say that the gutters were a âgiftâ that we never paid for . Which still isnât done. He gave us a date that they would show up to do the gutters and never showed..Not to mention we handed them a paid in full check for everything at the beginning of the process. Through this extremely hard time ⌠my parents lost their dog due to cancer and life has been 100 times harder. my heart breaks for them. If I had the money to fix everything myself I would. I have picture proof of everything and will be consulting a lawyer at this point.if anyone needs proof as to why they shouldnât use them let it be this ^^ or your free to message me and ask for the max detail. Or if you think you might want to join on a lawsuit. If a cyber vehicle is more important to a company that is supposedly in debt than the customers having a safe and comfortable home that they were promised, then there is something seriously wrong with...

It's been 5 months since damage occured. We decided to make the necessary repairs using our homeowners insurance. I can't fault Horizon on this, but don't expect much out of your warranty. đ
Update 1/2025 - Since posting our initial review, our salesman went above & beyond to get our underbelly insulation replaced before the bad weather. Fleetwood will hopefully be completing all the necessary repairs this month under our warranty.
Overall with a little more communication/structure between homebuyers, Horizon, & contractors, this would be a much smoother and less frustrating process.
Original 12/2024- We love the home we received, however, buyer beware. We bought our home from the Kingsport lot, but the Norton lot handles much of the paperwork / processing.
Time frames are much longer than anticipated for various reasons. It's been a constant back and forth with them from the beginning... ensuring our loan was proccessed correctly, getting the home delivered, set, and utilities hooked up. Our salesman did not go over available options on the home, so we missed out on a few upgrades.
2 months after moving in we had a water leak because the manufacturer pierced our hot water line with a trim paneling nail. We didn't get a final interior inspection from Horizon after setup, so we have several minor issues from that, faulty door knobs, loose trim, mixed up water lines, and no outdoor water faucet.
Now we are almost 3 months waiting on getting those and the water damage repairs done. Lack of information upfront and getting the run around will leave you frustrated and regretting...
