My father-in-law passed away suddenly on Sunday 9/9/18 and sadly I could not make the trip to Georgia for his services. From his obituary page I was able to at least send some flowers with a special message to my mother-in-law. The message I wrote was more important than the flowers themselves. I could not be there in person but I had hoped my message could be of some comfort, even if for only a few seconds. . I received a picture of the flowers I ordered, which were beautiful, but I noticed the card simply read, All my love, Christina Cleveland. The message I typed out should have read: "I wish I could be there with you all. I am there in spirit. Pat, I love you and James with all my heart, always and forever. All my love, Christina Cleveland." To have someone just cut my message down to simply the last sentence is unacceptable and was very upsetting. I hope that this was a one time mistake, I hope that people who are out of town and order flowers for a funeral don't get their messages altered b/c they won't be there to see it. UPDATE a few minutes after posting I received a reply to an email I sent to the Florist. If I can give them a negative star, I would. message from Florist: If you want a special message sent, I suggest you mail a card. The cards we provide are small and will only hold so much. No matter how many characters FTD gives you, i do not get that many on the print out they send me. I suggest next time you want to order and want something specific, pick up the phone and place a call to a local florist where you can convey your wishes, rather than going through an online order gatherer who keeps half your money and sends the local florist a short printout. I shortened the card as I did not want to crowd the message on a small card.
Brad Edmonson Woodbury Flowers
IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: below is my email I sent to you, was it rude? Probably, but I am an upset customer. Believe me, I was not looking for a refund of a measly $70. I didn't ask for a refund, that was FTD's decision. Sorry if you are unable to accept a complaint and respond in a professional manner. I posted a pic of your card but it's not showing, there was 2 sides to that card, plenty enough room for my message.
my original message to Brad Edmonson I have already filed a complaint via FTD and they have completely resolved the following situation with me but I felt compelled to contact you directly regarding the flowers I ordered and processed by your florist.
My father-in-law passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday and sadly I could not make the trip to Georgia for his services. From his obituary page I was able to at least send some flowers with a special message to my mother-in-law. Please know that the message was way more important than the flowers. I couldn’t be there but at least there was hope that my message could console her if even for a few seconds. I received a picture of the flowers I ordered, which were beautiful, but I noticed the card simply read, All my love, Christina Cleveland. This is absolutely unacceptable and extremely upsetting. That is not even close to what my message read and I also had 60 characters more I could have written. When making an order like this you are being entrusted with a simple task of creating beautiful arrangement and ensuring the message the customer has entered is written on the card. What bothers me is, had I not received a picture I would have never known that you or one of your staff completely disregarded my intended message but instead cut it short to the very last sentence. Was this laziness or a rush job, I don’t know and I don’t care, either way it is not acceptable. I hope that in the future you and your staff take more care when processing these...
