When our park district 100% stops using RoundUp and other harmful chemicals in our beautiful village, I will change this to a 5-star rating. Join us on Facebook at "Non Toxic Woodridge"
UPDATE 4/7/2025 Over the years, the park district has been listening to our concerns about using RoundUp and other toxic chemicals around playgrounds and walking paths and anywhere else where us residents enjoy going to. Since this initial one star review- the park district has reached out to me a number of times, and each time they genuinely cared about what I had concerns with.
They DID stop using RoundUp! That's a huge step forward.
And they made that decision in a scientifically logical manner; they heard our concerns and immediately stopped using RoundUp while they looked into healthier alternatives and reached out to others in order to learn about which options are out there. They didn't need to spray more RoundUp and wait to see how it messes up the community.
I love our park district. And it's incredible to see some of the cool things we're going to have soon in the Janes Ave area from the southern edge of the woods all the way up to the lakes. Our beloved free mulch area will soon be a community garden- and there are dozens of benefits to that for all residents!
If at the end of the day your main concern is the health of your new baby or your pets or your grandma talking a walk and stopping to smell a flower or your kids playing in the grass or you just relaxing and taking in the beauty of Woodridge in the Spring and Summer- you are in good hands and you do NOT have to worry about RoundUp and toxic chemicals in the grass and the bushes and trees. Woodridge is taking care of all of us.
Always speak out if there's an issue that you're concerned with. Start politely and learn what they're doing- and if you take issue with something- just say so! This isn't national politics- it's local. So you can actually get responses directly from elected officials and other park district employees.
Thank you everyone who works hard at the Woodridge park district to make this town beautiful...

Please vendors be honest when you offer your products i wish park disctrict can control...

I walked up and she barely wanted to greet me and proceeded to act bothered for a simple question. It was unprofessional and unbecoming especially at a Center that is designed to be welcoming to...
