Simply the best Contractor around! We hired Sycamore Kitchens and More in June 2022, to remodel both our Kitchen and Master Bathroom and Bedroom. We originally chose them because the prior owner had done a beautiful job remodeling our friend’s kitchen, however, when we reached out to them, it was the new owner, Don McGlaughin, who did the work…. And, we could not have been happier with our decision to hire him! From our first interaction with Don, his wife Lauren, and his contracting worker/partner Jeremy, to our last, we were completely impressed. Their work ethic, attention to detail, and craftmanship were so impressive and their responsive customer service was second to none! Any construction project that displaces you in your home can be stressful, but if you are going to have contractors “living” in your house for an extended period, Don and Jeremy were a pleasure to have around. Their fun senses of humor, and their calm demeanors did not get in the way of their ability to stay on track with our projects. Don timed everything really well, from cabinet arrivals, demolition, and installation, to coordinating with the other company’s flooring, countertops, and painters. He came early and stayed late whenever needed, and never left before cleaning up and leaving his workspace spotless. Don and Jeremy worked together with us to come up with a great design for our kitchen remodel that came out absolutely spectacular! They brought their creatively collaborative ideas for our Master Bathroom (working with Volpe Tiles, also terrific!), that involved breaking through a walk-in closet (which they rebuilt) and building us a new closet along our bedroom wall. We recently completed a major kitchen remodel with Sycamore Kitchens, and we truly couldn’t be happier with the experience or the result. From the start, the project involved knocking down a wall between the kitchen and dining room to open up the entire space — a big transformation — and they delivered flawlessly. Even more impressive: the entire job was done in just four weeks from demo day. Everyone told us that timeline was unrealistic, but Sycamore proved them wrong with their skill, coordination, and work ethic.

Jeremy and Chris were a pleasure to have around (so much so, that we missed them once the project was complete!) Their craftsmanship and attention to detail were phenomenal — everything they did was done with care, precision, and a genuine love for what they do. Their pride in their work really shows in the final product. I felt like their attention to detail was as if this was their very own kitchen.

Don was incredible throughout the process. We had a lot of questions (many of them we probably asked more than once!), and he always answered with patience, clarity, and calm reassurance. His design insight — especially how the flow of the kitchen would work — made a huge difference, and honestly, he thought of things we never would have. Don also recommended other vendors for us to use for certain aspects of our project, which was very helpful and we appreciated their expertise as well, and were happy with his recommendations.

Lauren was another standout. She kept communication flowing, helped guide design choices, and made sure everything stayed coordinated and on track. We always felt informed and supported, which meant a lot.

Sycamore Kitchens did a major renovation of our kitchen, and the final outcome is spectacular. It’s hard to express just how grateful we are to the entire Sycamore team.

After a preliminary showroom consultation with Marci, we worked extensively with Barbara, who produced a kitchen design that increased work and storage space while greatly improving the overall aesthetic of the room. She patiently guided us through the process of selecting cabinetry, quartz for countertops and backsplash, and appliances. (The appliances were purchased at Petrillo’s, whose superb working relationship with Sycamore facilitates timely delivery and installation.)

Don McLaughlin and his crew, Jeremy and Chris, are all highly skilled and highly personable. Consummate craftsmen with an extraordinary work ethic, Dan, Jeremy, and Chris were beyond meticulous in attending to detail in carpentry and electrical work (which included installing lots of mouldling and a great many ceiling light fixtures).

Even under ideal circumstances wherein everything can progress exactly to plan and precisely on schedule, a kitchen remodel is a very big household disruption that lasts several weeks. So the demeanor of the work crew is an important factor — and one could not ask for nicer, more affable people than the Sycamore team.
