Climbed this peak in July 2022 with two buddies. Split the trip into 3 days with around 30 miles round trip. Day 1 was 8-9 miles from the trailhead at West Tensleep Lake to Mistymoon Lake. Day 2 was summit day, approximately 12ish miles and roughly 4500 ft of vert with insane amount of boulder hopping. Day 3 was back from our campsite by Mistymoon to the trailhead. Would likely recommend for a backpacking trip! Not for faint of heart, but also not insanely difficult if you split it up into 3 days. There was a guy on our first day a couple miles in who told us he couldn’t summit because of a thunderstorm the day before; we were blessed to have amazing weather.

The hike up to Cloud Peak will treat you to a panoramic view of NW Wyoming. Cloud Peak is the highest point in Wyoming. It'll take a bit of effort and skill to get to the top. Cloud Peak Wilderness is true undiscovered gem. Grab a friend, lunch and get out there. This place is just waiting for another adventurer to share its beauty with! It tops out at 13,167' but doesn't feel like a lack of oxygen with the surrounding views.

One of the hardest hikes/climbs I've ever done but definitely worth it. Helps if you have a route saved on one of the hiking apps. Bring multiple layers because it's cold and windy at the top. Also bring enough food and water to go up and back. It took me 9.5 hours moving time and an elevation gain of 3200 ft (and then back down!)
