I JUST DELETED MY PREVIOUS 5 STAR REVIEW BASED ON THE FOLLOWING: I was contacted by E.F. Winslow regarding an error code found 101 overheat code and an insufficient circulation. I had my concerns which I voiced to them regarding the nearly $20 grand I had spent to convert to gas which of course meant a new boiler and hot water tank and now to be told something was wrong I was having a hard time grasping this however eventually it was explained that my house was built in 1984 and there was probably build up in the baseboard registers pipes blah blah blah. I was told they were going to put a cleaner into the system that would clean it all up and I probably wouldn't have to do it again for years. A technician would come by pour it in and come back a week later to flush it (could be wrong on exact wording but basically that is what they would do). Quite honestly I never thought to ask why this wasn't something they would have recommended before installing the new system. I appreciated the technicians that were here. I left a nice review and meant every word. They seemed knowledgeable, they were fairly quick and very kind. I just received my invoice for $996.19. The invoice states labor which is not broken down, just a flat fee of $885.00. Nobody was here over 2 hours combined. Invoice stated the circulator was removed and a broken Impala was found. More than likely this is what caused the error to begin with. But why would this happen on such a new system. I asked someone in this field(my brother who had done this work for over 30 years but resides in Illinois)how long they typically last (as did I google it) and was told 10-25 years sometimes more. My system is 2 years old. I called EF Winslow to question the part replacement and was told there were no part replacements. Then he said "well you weren't charged for the part". I was charged $885.00 in labor and $104.65 for Fernox F3 cleaner. It is my opinion that E.F. Winslow should have looked out for me, their customer and pushed back on the manufacturer for the labor on a part that should never had broken unless they couldn't because it was negligence on their part for not recommending this so called cleaning before installing the new unit. To say I am angry would be an understatement. More than being angry though, I am concerned at the advantage that is taken of women, the elderly or anyone who doesn't push back and ask questions. It is unfortunate that we don't always know the questions to ask. I will be pushing back on the manufacturer as will I be checking my ring camera for the times that their technicians were here. I will continue to research this and if I find that I am wrong and that most companies would handle this situation the same way, I will remove this review or at least share what I find. Shame on you...
Read moreI have had multiple problems with 2 winslow over the past few years. Pretty much every interaction, but I will only address two if them here. BTW, I agree with the other poster that they seem to talk down and take advantage of women and the elderly.
Example 1:
A couple of years ago I had a problem with my hot water. It was a fairly new tank and was definitely heating but would run out of hot water quickly. They convinced me that I needed a new hot water heater, So I bought one from them. The same problem remained, and on further inspection, they realized that the problem was with the circulator, not the hot water heater. So I spent all that money needlessly and had to start over on the other issue. They were not apologetic for having not tested it. They put me down, shamed me and made it clear that it was not their problem (basically saying they never make mistakes, it’s my problem).
Example 2:
Earlier this month, I had someone out to fix a problem with the faucet connecting to my shower and a faucet on the front right of my house. My daughter-in-law met the representative at my house. When I return to town, I discovered that the faucet from the shower did not work and had not been repaired. The faucet on the front side of the house had not been repaired. My $800 Bill indicated that they both had been fixed and were working and that he had turned on all of the exterior water. Imagine my surprise when I get home and neither the hot or cold in the garage has been turned on, the faucet outside the shower was not working, the faucet at the front right of the house was not working. I’m not sure what I paid $800 for! After they sent a 2nd Plummer to fix these issues, I called and tried to find out if I was paying twice for the same work. After 3 phone calls, I finally talked to a guy who was condescending, rude and sarcastic. He kept saying they bill by the hour and it would’ve cost the same if they done all of this job in one visit instead of two. I understand that, but if you said you did the job, shouldn’t you have done the job? If you needed to come back, should you have let me know that it wasn’t finished and you were coming back? If you didn’t do the job, why did you bill me for the job?
Nobody appreciates being talked down to and the rudeness and sarcasm were...

Having just completed our total kitchen remodel with E.F. Winslow we feel compelled to share our experience working and dealing with your company. From the moment we walked into the showroom for our first design meeting with the amazingly talented Heather Pond to the final inspection upon completion of our stunning new kitchen, E.F. Winslow superseded our expectations. Heather is a world-class kitchen creator. She is precise, thorough, a great listener and a true artist in terms of harmonizing the form and function of a kitchen. She understood our vision, executed it flawlessly and offered deft guidance when needed. The results were amazing. She also has a relentlessly positive approach and the same “can-do” attitude exhibited by every one of your craftsmen who set foot in our house. Mark, our in-house carpenter, took amazing care in executing the plan and made everything fit together beautifully. There was no situation that cropped up that he didn’t have a thoughtful solution for. His careful cuts, meticulous but efficient approach and superb craftsmanship are evident every time we open a drawer or cabinet. He produced exceptional work in a very short period of time. The same can be said of Ken and his electrical crew and Tom the plumber and his associates. They are vastly experienced, professional, polite and a joy to have on the job. Once we got a sample of their work we started adding to the project and wound up knocking out several extra tasks that were completed perfectly. Freeman, we greatly appreciate your personal attention to our remodel and your seamless scheduling and oversight. The manner and speed with which our job progressed, the coordination of inspections and deliveries, the ability and integrity of the people working for you, the overall smoothness of the project and the resulting quality outcome are at a standard you just don’t see very often these days. We could not be more satisfied with E.F. Winslow and will be telling anyone who asks about our beautiful kitchen that we made a great choice in partnering with you.
Gratefully,
Jeff and Jen...
