Cat'n Nine Tail General Store — Local services in York

I run a cleaning business in York and often frequented this little gem on my way outta town at least 2x a week. The fish and seafood chowders were some of the best I've ever had and to top it off the chucked it full of seafood/ fish in every spoon full. Sadly after they sold the place, I stopped in and asked if the recipe and everything was the same for the chowder? They responded, "yes recipe and cook was still the same" So being satisfied with the answered I received I ordered a quart of chowder. When I got home my family and I realized it had a pickle like taste and was tiny chopped up pieces of fish and also more liquid then hearty contents. It is because of this I will still visit there store and support local but I will not be purchasing any more...

Owner is an arrogant man who has no customer service background obviously.... I go in 15 minutes till 11 am breakfast is over at 11... I ask what does he recommend for breakfast.... he says breakfast is over we are going into lunch....I understand that but we as tourists aren't really going by a watch while on vacation... especially myself after 23years of active military and finally retiring my watch... so if yall like dealing with a real prickly guy enjoy.... I can find food and spend my money elsewhere....

Used to come here near daily for lunch. It is a Very popular spot for landscapers, gardeners, laborers of all kinds and just the local community while on lunch.

Have not been in years but I am very pleased to see they ar e open later now. I believe they are under new owners. I will always think of the endless memories while I drive by, that I formed here during years of...
