Star Supply — Local services in Youngstown

Purchased full set of kitchen cabinets and paid in full in advance and the cabinets arrived within a few days. We decided to purchase 3 more cabinets to put in an island, so two weeks ago tomorrow I purchased them, again paying in full in advance. When I ordered I asked about lead time and was told that it would take a week or two at the most. Tomorrow is 2 weeks, and no cabinets. I inquired by phone and first they told me point blank, we will call you when the cabinets are in without even getting my information. It was like they wanted to get me off the phone. Then I spoke with Carla who I was told is the manager and she explained that if I read their brochure orders can take a minimum of 10 days. I proceeded to try to explain that when I ordered them they said it would be within 2 weeks and that given their deliveries are on Tuesday and Thursday, and the granite supplier is coming out on Tuesday at 2 pm to measure, I wanted to know if they could find out exactly if the cabinets will be in on this coming Tuesday. Before I could finish explaining Carla interrupted me and said, You aren't hearing what I am saying, and gave me an explanation of what business days are and how Saturday is not a business day. No kidding! I already know that. Point is I have been a customer of Star Supply for a long time and I have never been treated so condescendingly. Purchases from customers like me help pay Carla's salary and we should not be treated in that fashion. I asked if she could call and verify that our cabinets would be in on the Tuesday truck but she said that her boss Jodi, who was not in until Monday, would have to do that. What an experience and a treasure this place is. I took my wife and kids in here because our old gas furnace needed a replacement blower, the belt-driven one had about died and I thought I'd seen them here before. I snapped a pic of the electric motor placard and matched up the best I could on a newer-style direct drive blower, used for only $40. I was hesitant but I sorted out the wiring and wired it up and to my pleasant surprise it works even better than the old belt-drive unit and is so much quieter.

My kids, of course, were interested in the toys that looked like surplus from something or other and lady, who appeared to be maybe an owner or manager, was over-the-top kind enough to give each of my kids a nice toy dump truck. They were excited for days afterward and it means a lot to me as a parent that someone would be kind enough to make a little gesture such as that for my kids instead of being upset that there are little kids touching all over the merchandise.
