RV Connection and Satellite Electronics — Local services in Yuma

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! ANYWHERE ELSE! Or buy a new dish somewhere else, which would probably be cheaper than paying RC Connection $105 an hour to fumble and bumble around.

I have been having problems with my Winegard G2 satellite dish. These folks advertise themselves as THE PLACE for RV dishes so I called and was told it would be best if I took the dish to them. I asked if I needed to bring anything else, and was told no. So I loaded it up and drove to Yuma.

The young man that met me immediately informed me that I should have had them come to my site (what I wanted to do in the first place). Then he asked for the controller, which of course I did not have, as per their instructions. Then he informed me that they had a controller but no power cords so they could not help me.

A REPAIR FACILITY THAT DOESN'T HAVE EVEN ONE POWER CORD FOR A PRODUCT THEY FEATURE AND SUPPOSEDLY REPAIR?

Good thing they did not to come to my site. Would they bring tools? If they don't stock basic AC to DC power cords (doesn't everyone have a drawer full of various output ratings?) why would they stock any parts at all. This is a new dish. Too much trouble to use the supply from one of the units on the floor?

Being a first time rv owner I do not have much knowledge of what replacement parts are avaliable. I went to RV Connection for a replacement dome vent cover. The gentleman was very helpful in finding what i needed. When i asked about the gasket that goes around the opening he said "thats not replaceable, you have to replace the whole vent." My thoughts were, thats ridiculous someone has to make this weather striping. But he is the professional and knows what he is talking about. So he proceeded to eagerly help me get all the supplies needed to replace the whole vent about $50. I installed the new vent just as instructed and worked great. Well a recent storm took another vent cover and upon my investigation the seal is damaged also. No way, i am not spending another $50 to fix this. My previous search for the weather striping was a bust but to save some money i looked again and to my suprise this weather striping is available. Either this salesman lied or doesn't know his a__ from a hole in the ground. I will never buy anything from this store ever! I was lied to, cheated, and taken advantage of. I could of bought the weather striping for $9, which is what i will do next time....

My month old Magnum inverter in my month old new fifth wheel decided to pack it in. I am on my way to Baja to do some beach camping and really need the inverter. I called RV Connection and spoke with Thom. He was very courteous and agreed to see me on Monday as I couldn't get there befire they closed on Friday.

I arrived at opening on Monday and Tom immediately came out to my rig to assess the issue. After some discussion we determined that my Magnum had bit the biscuit and we agreed on getting a new Victron 3000 watt multiplies 2 to replace it. It had to be shipped over from San Diego. I camped on their lot for two nights waiting for it to arrive. On Wednesday it arrived and Tom went to work installing it and a new Victron smart shunt I had bought in Bend Oregon. I am extremely happy with the work he did and the attention to detail he gave. I'm back up and running now and loving the new Victron equipment. I highly recommend RV Connection in Yuma. They also turned me onto the MyTV box. So now I can watch hockey and pretty much any channel and movies I want down on Baja. Just...
