Thank you Jackson and Danny for a great day out. We went out for a snorkel tour as we don’t dive, but the guides are great and take you to different sites depending on the day. This is the dive shop connected to White Grass Resort. It’s important to confirm all of the trips you do on Tanna the afternoon/evening before.

The water was crystal clear, you could see the sea floor at all times and we went on a cloudy day. Mostly hard coral and a lot on the smaller side, but blooming on almost every surface and some different anemones too. A lot more mature formations deeper down and a riot of colours and also lots of smaller tropical fish. It was rare to see any coral bleaching, compared to when we were at Santo the previous week where it had wrecked havoc on the reefs there.

We didn’t see megafauna but heard that two days ago they saw hammerheads on a dive! How cool. Saw some turtles and the resident dugong...

The only dive shop on Tanna island. So you won't have a choice anyways!

I'd say the diving is alright. I didn't dive in Port Vila so I can't compare. Some coral was quite obviously bleached. However, at some dive sites, the amount of coral seen was plentiful and healthy looking. I didn't see much in terms of animals - a sea turtle or two from a distance, an octopus and a few nudibranches. We saw the resident dugong at the surface, but she was absent underwater.

Current was very strong at some sites, so those who have just been certified should be aware. Surge was also quite strong on the 2 days I dived, since both dives were right between tide changes.

Dive guides were very nice, but appeared to have less experience when compared to others I've followed in other parts of the world. I'd recommend those who are more confident in diving...

Me and my partner went for a dive day. The reef was beautiful. Because we did not get a chance to see the Blue Hole or the Blue Cave I booked a second day of diving for just me. When I arrived, the dive shope was closed. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I asked at reception where the dive master was. I was informed the dive master was sick and did not show up. There was no attempt made to contact me or to help arrange alternative options. It means me and my partner had no time to arrange alternative plans for the day. Very unprofessional but unfortunately the only dive centre...

Volcano Island divers are unbelievable. There are two dives in particular there that will knock you out. Blue cave blue and blue hole. The quality of the coral. Oh my goodness. Simply pristine. The structures and shapes and light are something you will never forget. Thank you for the most amazing experience, Jim Kasten. You are an incredible dive leader. You are the intersection of chill and skill❣️
