This is an interesting cave site, a few km off QL4C Road. However, for anyone who’s interested in coming here be warned, there’s a fairly tough hike to get up to the cave entrance. If you’re traveling from Ha Giang, the access road is on the left (off QL4C) and just past a Petrolimex gasoline station. The access road is one of those cement laneways and it takes you through some very scenic terrain, to the parking area for your motorbikes. Note: the distance from QL4C road to the parking area is around 4 km. From the parking area there’s a 1.2 km hike through a majestic landscape, to the cave entrance. The final section of the hike is up a long flight of steps which will certainly have you perspiring and breathing hard, by the time you get to the ticket office. Note: if you come here on a warm afternoon, take plenty of drinking water. The entry fee for the cave is 30,000 VND.

The cave has been properly set-up for tourism. There’s a solid cement pathway, with handrails, which does a circuit through the cave. From the entrance you travel down the right-hand side of the cave, and return along the left. The distance to the back end of the cave is approximately 300 meters. The cave has internal illumination but on the day I was there, the power was off. For back-up you can grab a head lamp at the ticket office, if you don’t have your own lights. The cave has a large internal volume (larger than Tham Luong Cave) and a lot of impressive sized formations (stalactites and stalagmites) for viewing. It’s also nice and cool inside, and a welcome relief after the sweaty hike up to the entrance.

Safe...

From my point of view this was a great experience for three reasons - one: there was only one other person there, two: there was a good hike to get there so lots of exercise and three: the cave and surroundings were beautiful. The access to the cave was down a long cemented track - like a farm track really but in very good condition. The narrowness meant buses can't get down, which is good, in my opinion. You enter the village and straight away locals whizz up on their bikes to offer you a lift. You could do that, but ypu still have to walk up the final hill. It's only about a km and a half - lots of steps - but I'm 61, and I managed it fine. The cave is well maintained, and the boardwalks are good. They are meant to give you a helmet before you go in, but the gate man forgot - no worries. I can't say how much it costs because our guide paid. The stalactites and stalagmites are beautiful - it's well...

This is a good 45 mintue trail that everyone should take. On the day of our visit, only us and one more couple came here. The walk was quite tiring but it is a good exercise, a lot of good views. And entering the cave, we realised the effort was worth while. There is a cofee shop at the top in front of the cave entrance, a good rest point to recover...
