I was traveling to Doha with Qatar Airways QR 1450 from Harare on Sunday May 19, 2024. I was served by Elizabeth Mashaire. She was extremely rude and gave me a really hard time with my bags. First she wanted to charge me $255 for my second bag. I insisted Qatar gives 2 free bags. Then came the issue of my carry on bag which she said has to weigh 7kgs. I understood that but she said that includes my purse together should be 7kgs. I told her my purse don’t count. She said it’s the new law. She made me take out everything from my purse until my purse was empty to make the 7kgs she wanted. She told me not to put anything back in my purse because she will be waiting for me by the gate and if she find anything she will throw them away. Indeed Elizabeth was waiting for me by the gate but she did not have a scale to reweigh my bags and she let me in. I travel with an empty purse. To my surprise my fellow passengers that were not served by Elizabeth had over packed carry on bags and even over loaded back packs. Elizabeth does not work for Qatar Airways she is an airport personnel who helps with check ins. Elizabeth can easily tarnish the good reputation of Qatar Airways. There is a reason we choose to fly these expensive airlines. They offer good service only to be down played by an airport personnel. More customer service training is required...

Robert Mugabe International Airport, situated about 15 km south of Harare's city center, serves as a crucial entry and exit point for Zimbabwe. Access to the airport is mainly via car or taxi, as public transportation options are limited. Traffic can be an issue during peak hours, so plan accordingly.

The airport itself is modest in scale but is generally clean and well-maintained. Check-in counters and security checkpoints are adequately staffed, though efficiency can fluctuate, especially during busy travel seasons.

Amenities at the airport are limited but functional. You'll find a basic range of retail shops, including duty-free, and a handful of dining options that offer local and international cuisine. Free Wi-Fi is available, but the connection is often spotty and slow.

Transportation options for leaving the airport are somewhat limited. Taxis are available, but ride-sharing services are less prevalent. Car rental services are present but can be costly.

In summary, Robert Mugabe International Airport serves its purpose as a basic but functional gateway to Zimbabwe. While it lacks the bells and whistles of larger international airports, it meets essential...

Time to take flight! 🛫

From the moment you step into the new Harare Airport terminal, you are greeted with a sense of spaciousness and cleanliness that sets a relaxing tone for your travel. The terminal's design exudes a modern aesthetic with a clean ambiance that makes the waiting time before a flight more enjoyable.

One of the highlights of the new terminal is the efficiency of its operations. The check-in process is seamless, with well-organized counters and friendly staff who ensure that you're quickly on your way to security. The security check itself is streamlined and thorough, ensuring safety without the hassle often encountered at other airports.

Passport control is similarly efficient, staffed by officers who are both professional and swift, minimizing the time you spend in line. This efficiency extends throughout the terminal facilities, making travel through Harare not just a necessity, but a pleasure.

Overall, the new Harare Airport terminal stands out for its combination of style, cleanliness, and operational efficiency, providing travelers with a top-notch...

I am beyond amazed with the service at Harare International Airport. The Airport is the window of the country as its one of the busiest points of entry. I was humbled by the security officials in particular one Mr. Bembere I hope I am spelling it correctly. To start with he is a short unassuming gentleman and here I was this 2m lady walking behind him in awe after they had seen on their cameras that I had dropped my hard earned $20. Coming from South Africa this is hardly ever done where someone returns money or anything for that matter....maybe it does happen but it's very rare. So I want to take this opportunity to thank the management and security of Harare International Airport. I even offered to buy him a drink and humbly refused. This experience gave me a very different perspective. There is lot of hope in Africa, this man is President Traore of Burkina Fasso. Let's work together to change world. Best regards from #theclan
