I was traveling to Doha with Qatar Airways QR 1450 from Harare on Sunday May 19, 2024. I was served by Elizabeth Mashaire. She was extremely rude and gave me a really hard time with my bags. First she wanted to charge me $255 for my second bag. I insisted Qatar gives 2 free bags. Then came the issue of my carry on bag which she said has to weigh 7kgs. I understood that but she said that includes my purse together should be 7kgs. I told her my purse don’t count. She said it’s the new law. She made me take out everything from my purse until my purse was empty to make the 7kgs she wanted. She told me not to put anything back in my purse because she will be waiting for me by the gate and if she find anything she will throw them away. Indeed Elizabeth was waiting for me by the gate but she did not have a scale to reweigh my bags and she let me in. I travel with an empty purse. To my surprise my fellow passengers that were not served by Elizabeth had over packed carry on bags and even over loaded back packs. Elizabeth does not work for Qatar Airways she is an airport personnel who helps with check ins. Elizabeth can easily tarnish the good reputation of Qatar Airways. There is a reason we choose to fly these expensive airlines. They offer good service only to be down played by an airport personnel. More customer service training is required...

Transportation options for leaving the airport are somewhat limited. Taxis are available, but ride-sharing services are less prevalent. Car rental services are present but can be costly.
In summary, Robert Mugabe International Airport serves its purpose as a basic but functional gateway to Zimbabwe. While it lacks the bells and whistles of larger international airports, it meets essential...
