1.5 mins of a 4 hour Sunday morning hike to Three Shires Head in Buxton, Peak District. Plenty of dead animals for an inquisitive 7 year old to enjoy! #hike #peakdistrict #threeshireshead #hikertok #familyhike

So part of me obviously knew that England looked like this (I’ve been in love with the English countryside for years!) but at the same time… wow? 🥹
I didn’t realise it would be this lush, crazy beautiful and green even in winter. I felt like I was in New Zealand so many times with the green, rolling hills (and sheep 🐑 everywhere - and I mean everywhere). 😂🥹
Also felt like I was in a Lord of the Rings movie more than once so I mean gosh. 🙈
Here’s a list of all of the places we visited:
📍Mam Tor
📍Winnats Pass
📍Castleton
📍Buxton
📍Eyam
📍Ashford in the Water
📍Chrome Hill
📍Three Shires Head
📍Lud’s Church
We only had two days so we didn’t get to see nearly enough of what we wanted to - but that just calls for a second trip, am I right? 🥹🙌🏼

You need to save this place down 📌
This hidden gem is tucked deep within one of the UKs favourite National Parks.
Cheshire, Staffordshire, and Derbyshire all converge at this point. In the past, the area was an important crossing point for travelers, as the rivers provided a natural barrier between the three counties.
Whether you’re a history buff, nature lover, or just looking for a peaceful escape this Peak District gem is perfect!
Today the pool below the bridge is popular for wild swimming.
This is Three Shires Head in the Peak District!

I was astonished and upset when we reach the place. We parked our car at the entrance where it said car park here and there’s no place to turn. There was a sign board.
It took us 35-40 minutes walk to reach the place, our navigation was quiet bad due to network problem. However, we managed to reach there, after the road you will encounter a trail.
When we reach there, it was crowded with a young people and waterfall or it was little less spring water was really low where you will not be able to swam across and you will have to go down further or up ward to find a suitable space. Nevertheless, place is not for swimming. You will find a few spots where you can feel a depth of water but most of it has small depth. Not the ideal place for swim.🏊♀️
May be , we were looking for swimming and thats how we felt. We did found a good spot which has a quite a depth from other spots which you have to go above from little bridge.
I will attach pictures as a reference. Hope you will find suitable for your preference.

Fascinating location of a once grand house that lasted less than than 100 years before being dismantled, to facilitate construction of the nearby reservoir. In late afternoon with the sun sinking in the sky it was a very atmospheric location with a sense of melancholy at things lost to history, confounded by the small cemetery further up the hill which houses the graves of the Grimshawe family and their favourite servants. The surrounding Goyt Valley offers numerous scenic walks past waterfalls and streams and through peaceful woodland. Free parking is available at the foot of the Errwood Hall walk.

We walked from a carpark about 3 miles away down a very quiet valley road. The scenery was spectacular along the way and we eventually found ourselves at the carpark actually near to Errwood Hall overlooking the reservoir. The walk up to the Hall has some steeper sections but the path is wide and well surfaced. I thought it was worth a visit if only to get a flavour of history in a little bit of the Peak District.

Amazing place, with so many trails to hike or bike. The ruin is a welcome rest point and something for the kids to explore. There is a rumour of hidden treasure in this area too. With the family of Errwood Hall all buried at the top of the hill above the ruin. I bet this place is busy in the summer as there is lots of trails and bike ways to explore, with plenty of babbling brooks for kids and big kids to play in..

Really lovely walks and there's quite alot left of the hall. It's worth downloading the errwood hall revealed app as you can move your phone around and see what the hall looked like.
The signage is terrible with just the odd wooden sign pointing the way and the map isn't much help. We got very lost and it ended up being a very long hard walk when it should have been quite an easy stroll in the woods.

Had some time left, so I decided to visit these ruins. For those not knowing their way around here. From the parking go up and every time there's a junction, keep right. The ruins are not more than what you see in the photos. The area, especially in spring, is gorgeous. You find a lot of colourful flowers and bushes and bluebells. You encounter other walkers. Friendly people of which a lot with dogs.
