$180 Dinner for Two โ Was It Worth It? ๐ฒ๐ฅ๐ฆ
Just tried the newly opened Chubby Mart in LA. Final take: the steamed seafood was amazing, but the hot pot & BBQ didnโt quite justify the price for us. โญ Pro Tip: If you want the Wagyu Uni Bun, order it the second you sit down! It took over 90 minutes to arriveโonly thanks to our incredibly kind (and very handsome) server who chased it down three times. Shoutout to him for saving the day! ๐จ๐ณ๐ซ ๐ฆ Seafood Highlights Steamed Razor Clams โ Absolutely incredible. We wanted seconds! Steamed Rock Crab โ Sweet, meaty, and fresh. Blue Crab โ Loaded with roe, delicious in hot pot. Sea Urchin โ A bit bitter, better wrapped in seaweed. Sea Snail โ Boiled for 15 seconds, fine but not memorable. ๐ฅฉ Meat Selection We ordered Angus, tongue, A5 Wagyu, and beef shank. Angus โ Best in hot pot. Beef Tongue โ Great for grilling. Wagyu & Shank โ Good but not standout. Wagyu Uni Bun โ Finally arrived when we were full. Rich and tasty, but too late to fully enjoy. ๐ฒ Soup Bases Passion Fruit (too salty to drink) + Wagyu Butter (standard). ๐ Membership Note Regular: $28, only valid at this location. Plus: $58, works across all Chubby brands. If you already have a regular membership from another Chubby, you can upgradeโbut the expiration date stays the same. ๐ Shoutout to the super-busy yet attentive Korean server who kept his cool during the chaotic soft opening. His help (and apologies for the bun delay) really made a difference! #ChubbyMart #LosAngeles #SeafoodFeast #HotPot #BBQ #WagyuUniBun #LAEats #FoodReview #NewRestaurant #ServiceMatters #DiningOut #MixedReview #EatLA #FreshSeafood
