This century - old steakhouse in Brooklyn, Gage & Tollner, is definitely a perfect place for a date! As soon as you enter the door, you'll be mesmerized by the crystal chandeliers and mahogany walls. The entire restaurant exudes an old - money elegance, being both low - key and luxurious. The atmosphere is just off the charts, making it an absolute date paradise! 💑 This time, I came to check it out during Restaurant Week. I originally wanted to try their tasting menu, but found out it was only available at noon. So, I splurged and ordered the Rib Eye for Two from the main menu. Haha! However, from the appetizer to the dessert, every single dish makes me want to recommend it like crazy! The Chicken Liver Paté as an appetizer really blew me away! The texture is as delicate as foie gras, and when paired with the fragrant dried bread, every bite is super satisfying. It instantly gives you a sense of luxury. 🥂 For the main course, the Rib Eye for Two was ordered medium - rare. It was charred on the outside and tender on the inside, juicy and succulent. Paired with mushrooms as a side dish, the flavors were a perfect match! The portion size was just right for two people, and it wasn't greasy at all. But, the most unforgettable part was the dessert, Baked Alaska! The outer layer is cream, and inside is a chocolate - mint ice - cream cake. It's sweet but not cloying, with an incredibly rich texture and layers of flavors. It was truly the highlight of the meal! 🍰 The waiters and waitresses are all dressed in vintage uniforms, and their attitude is extremely nice. The whole restaurant is filled with a luxurious yet lively atmosphere, making people feel very relaxed. It's especially suitable for a date. Although it's over $100 per person, considering the environment, service, and food, it's definitely worth the price!
