Budapest Zoo & Botanical Garden 🌳 A visit to the zoo that wasn't planned and for which I didn't have high expectations. After an intense half-month of visiting the well-known Zoo Frankfurt, Barcelona Zoo, and Prague Zoo, my interest in this lesser-known Budapest Zoo wasn't very high. 🐘 Once inside, I saw old greenhouses and common animals, thinking it would just be a leisurely stroll. But then I turned a corner and saw the beautifully landscaped fish tanks in the underground area – that's when I realized this zoo was special. 🐠 The further I explored, the happier I became. Every animal looked healthy and beautiful, with no signs of stereotypic behavior (though the enrichment was just average). Since it was winter, most animals were indoors. Almost every indoor exhibit had two levels, and there was a lot of educational content. Although many of the outer buildings looked old, stepping inside was always a pleasant surprise – like seeing a family of lions resting indoors and a crocodile that looked like a ball! 🦁 As a reptile lover, I was thrilled to see various snakes, pythons, boas, vipers, and other venomous snakes not commonly found in European zoos. 🐍 The variety of animals was astonishing – from numerous bird and lizard species to bison and lynxes. There was even a shark in the aquarium! Behind the aquarium, there was an animal rescue center open to visitors. I saw many rescued hedgehogs, falcons, owls, and other birds. It was heartwarming to see this side of the zoo. 🦅 Once again, time flew by and I didn't get to see everything. I can't wait to come back! 🕰️ Ticket price: 5000 HUF for adults. #AnimalsAreOurFriends #Zoo #ExploringTheAnimalWorld #BudapestZoo #Budapest #LifeInTheZoo #WalkingInTheZooIsTheRealDeal
