Diablo Lake Trail: A Pure Workout Hike 🏔️

Today's 7+ mile grind up the Diablo Lake Trail was pure endurance training with minimal views - but still an incredible workout in the heart of Washington's wilderness 🌲💪 Trail Breakdown 📍 Route: Starts from Highway 20 (look carefully for the unmarked turnoff!) Passes through dense forest, rocky sections, and babbling creeks Final descent to lake level? Totally skippable (we did!) 🌄 Views: Snow-capped mountains peeking through the trees Teal-blue Diablo Lake glimpses between foliage Pro tip: For the best scenery, just drive to Diablo Lake Vista Point instead ⛰️ Hiker Notes ⚠️ Navigation Alert: The trailhead entrance is extremely easy to miss - follow GPS carefully or you'll drive right past it 🚗❌ 🥾 Gear Recommendations: Sturdy hiking poles (the rocky sections will thank you) Hydration pack (no water sources along this dry stretch) Layers - temps change quickly in the mountains ☀️→🌫️ ⏱️ Pace: Average hikers: 3-4 hours round trip Our "let's get this over with" pace: 2.5 hours 😅 Alternative Options If you're short on time or just want the views: Drive straight to Diablo Lake Vista Point Take the short walk from the parking lot Enjoy the same lake views without breaking a sweat 🚙💨 #SeattleHiking #EnduranceTraining #WashingtonTrails #DiabloLakeAdventure #FitnessInNature #HikeTheNorthwest #TrailRunning #MountainsAndLakes #OutdoorWorkout #SkipTheCrowds
