Richmond Date Night Spot: A Hidden Gem That Won’t Disappoint!

Trying to book a Valentine’s Day dinner two weeks in advance? Forget about it—most decent Western restaurants were fully booked except for superlate slots. The only place we could snag a reservation was Moxies, and honestly, we went in with low expectations… but wow, were we shocked! We tried their special set menu, and it was sogood. 🍣 Tuna Sushi Stack Sushi-grade tuna layered with seasoned rice, avocado, fresh mango, soy-ginger glaze, and spicy mayo—all stacked on crispy shrimp chips. SO. DAMN. GOOD. I usually don’t love raw fish, but the combo here was perfection. Plus, eating it with the crunchy shrimp chips made this fun little crunch-crunchsound—so satisfying! 🐟 Lemon Basil Salmon Pan-seared salmon with lemon-herb sauce, healthy grains, and seasonal veggies. It was decent, but honestly, after seeing other tables with the roasted chicken and Thai curry, I kinda regretted not trying those instead. The only downside? If you pick this set menu, you can’t order à la carte. Like, why?? I reallywanted to try their burgers and fried calamari too… 🥩 Upgraded to Peppercorn New York Steak We paid an extra $15 to upgrade from a 7oz to a 10oz certified Angus beef steak, served with peppercorn cream sauce, buttery mashed potatoes, and seasonal veggies. Worth every penny—so juicy and flavorful! 🍮 Sticky Toffee Pudding They warned us their desserts are supersweet, so we skipped the white chocolate brownie and went for this instead. Pro tip: DO NOT pour the extra caramel sauce on top—even the ice cream is toosweet. But the cake itself? Delicious! Tasted like a rich date cake, and the portion was huge (almost a meal on its own). Final Verdict? We’re definitely coming back—great food, solid portions, and good value. The only downside? The vibe isn’t superupscale, so if you’re looking for a fancy romantic setting, this might not be it. (But don’t worry—my next post will cover a gorgeous, mid-price spot perfect for dates!) 📍 Moxies Richmond Restaurant 3233 St Edwards Dr, Richmond #GoodFoodIsTheBestRomance #Burnaby #Vancouver #RichmondBC #FoodieUniverse #VancouverEats #WestCoastDining #DateNightVibes
