Update as of July 17, 2021: My mother in law treated me to a delayed birthday dinner with my wife. I recalled the manager at this restaurant asked me to come by to give them another visit. So I did and I emailed them for a 6pm reservation which they booked for me. Thank you for that. I was hoping the experience would be a touch better due to previous delays. As usual, the staff were friendly and courteous. We were seated immediately. We ordered the freshly smashed guacamole, calamari, the chicken and cashew lettuce wraps and the chicken sandwich. I'll say that the place was quite busy and there was a rather large group (30-40 people) that were in the patio. I had a feeling this would affect the timeliness of our orders and service. Unfortunately, this was the case. Our kind server apologized about the delay due to the group. It seems they had been served before us even though we ordered before they did. We did need to wait longer than normal between the guacamole and the entrees. The wait for service and to pay for the bill was a little much. We were there for at least 1 hour and 20 minutes. I wish I could say that they did a better job. Food was delicious, our server was professional but the management dropped the ball in managing orders and timely delivery of the food. I hope they learn from this. I dont think I'll be back.
We recently visited this place to celebrate birthdays. We were greeted immediately by friendly staff. No wait at 1210pm. We ordered the calamari, bruschetta, chimichurri steak salad, crispy wontons and cashews lettuce wraps, roast beef dip sandwich and cajun blackened shrimp tacos with chips and guacamole. We did wait quite a while maybe 30-45 minutes for the entrees but we weren't in a rush. So no big deal. The food was quite delicious. The food was prepared nicely and the ingredients were fresh and seasoned well. I only took pictures of the shrimp, the lettuce wraps and rhe beef dip. There weren't that many people at the restaurant. I found it interesting that the washrooms weren't labeled for gender or any labels at all to show that they were washrooms. I don't know why. We were very satisfied with the food and the quality. Most of all we were very happy with our servers who were friendly and engaging. Btw, we did have the white chocolate brownie and the key lime pie for dessert which we shared. Both incredible and so generous in portion. The only reason I havent given them 5 stars is because the wait for the food was a bit excessive. Otherwise, we would like to come back and try the other wonderful menu items. We did leave the place around 2pm....
Read moreDining out is often about the entire experience, and my recent visit to Moxies was nothing short of exceptional, thanks in large part to a stellar server named Jadyn. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm atmosphere that set the tone for a memorable evening.
The Food
Let’s start with the food, which was simply fantastic. The menu offered a delightful range of options that made it hard to choose, but I ultimately settled on the Rib Eye steak, while my dining companion opted for the Chicken Alfredo . Each plate was beautifully presented, highlighting the chef's attention to detail. The flavors were bold and well-balanced; every bite was a pleasure. I particularly loved the fresh ingredients that made each dish vibrant and delicious. For dessert, we couldn’t resist trying the white chocolate brownie, and it was the perfect sweet ending to our meal – rich, creamy, and utterly satisfying.
Service by Jadyn
Now, onto the service. Jadyn was truly the highlight of our evening. From the moment we sat down, they exuded a warmth and professionalism that made us feel valued. Jadyn was knowledgeable about the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations and insights about the dishes without being overbearing. Their enthusiasm for the food was infectious, and it was clear that they took pride in their work.
What really stood out was Jadyn’s ability to balance attentiveness with unobtrusiveness. Our drinks were always topped off, and they checked in just the right amount without interrupting our conversation. Additionally, they were quick to address any special requests and handled them with a friendly smile, making us feel at home.
Overall Experience
The combination of delectable food and exceptional service made for an unforgettable dining experience. It’s rare to find a server who not only excels in their role but also seems genuinely passionate about ensuring their guests have a great time. Jadyn is a true asset to Moxies, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return, especially knowing that I'll be in such capable hands.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a place where the food is outstanding and the service is exemplary, look no further than Moxies. Be sure to ask for Jadyn; they will make your meal all the more enjoyable. Highly...
Read moreThe reason behind us going to Moxies was their $40 DineOut Vancouver dinner menu. It is a competitive price compared to many other restaurants with similar offerings. This was our first visit and we were quite satisfied with the portion of what we got from the DineOut menu.
Appetizer 1. Roasted Baby Tomato & Whipped Feta Appetizer 2. Fresh Guacamole with white corn chip Entree 1. Chipotle Mango Chicken (sweet & spicy dry rub, ancient grains, fresh avocado, pico de gallo) Entree 2. Steak Fritz (7oz certified angus beef sirloin, chimichurri) Dessert: mini sticky toffee pudding (served warm with toasted almond crisps, buttery caramel sauce, bourbon cream anglaise & French vanilla ice-cream)
The guacamole is plenty and tastes fresh. I can’t stop dipping (=dunking) my chips in it. I can tell there is a good amount of lime and herbs in it. 👍🏻👍🏻
The toast was sliced thin and really crunchy , and was perfect with feta, but the grilled baby tomato was what I kept eating 😂.
I was delighted to see a 4th choice of entree not published on DineOutVancouver official website - Steak Frites.
Had the steak medium rare and it was great. The chimichurri on it had a smoky flavour which I liked. The fries on side was wonderfully cooked. Each fries was long, sharp edged and did not bend. I would pay money for the fries if I had to. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😋
The chicken wasn’t very appealing to me. My friend ate most of it. To me, the seasoning on the chicken made it too salty. The thickness of the 2 pieces of chicken was 5mm thick. The grains was decent.
Lastly, the dessert, mini toffee pudding (It is really a soft cake kind-of pastry) and French vanilla ice cream was superb! I had never had French vanilla flavoured ice cream and I liked it ! 👍🏻👍🏻🥰 What a great finishing touch!
Update- Went back for dinner with friends. Ordered nacho $24 add spicy beef +$7 , grilled salmon, 13oz rib eye and rib rack. Each person ended up to pay $41.8. Very nice place to hang out. Service is always friendly and efficient. Steaks are...
