Vancouver | Third Time’s the Charm at Tunnel Bluffs for Canada Day!
My third hike to Tunnel Bluffs felt like a casual stroll in my backyard—zero stress! Even the infamous 2km steep gravel section flew by this time. 🚶♂️💨 This ultra-popular trail has gotten some upgrades: new signage, relocated toilets, and even flower beds at the entrance! I’ll forever recommend this hike for its insane views-to-effort ratio—just 1 hour from Richmond! 🚗 Logistics 📍 Navigate to: Sunset Trailhead Public Pay Parking 💰 Parking: $3/hour (pay via app). Spots are limited, but I’ve miraculously snagged one all three visits! 🍀 👣 Trail Stats • Round trip: 11.5km • Elevation gain: 470m • Difficulty: Moderate (only the first 2km are tough). • Time: 3.5–4 hours. Breakdown: 1️⃣ First 2km: Steep gravel grind (grip those shoes! 👟). 2️⃣ Next 4km: Wide, flat forest path with two cute log bridges. 🌉 3️⃣ Final push: Scramble over one big rock to the jaw-dropping viewpoint! 🌊 The Reward The lookout over Howe Sound frames Bowen Island, distant peaks, and the Sea-to-Sky Highway’s curves—postcard-perfect on sunny days (but brutally exposed—wear sunscreen! ☀️). 🎒 Gear Tips • Hiking shoes (gravel = ankle danger!). • 1.5L water (I survived on less, but hydrate!). 💧 • Sunscreen + bug spray (mosquitoes are savage). 🦟 • Follow the signs—impossible to get lost now! 🌟 Why I Love It • Accessible challenge—hard enough to feel rewarding, easy enough for repeat visits. • Iconic PNW views without a 10-hour slog. #HikeBC #SeaToSkyAdventures #TunnelBluffs #PNWViews #ModerateHikes #CanadaDay #TrailUpgrades #ViewpointVibes #NoExcusesHikes
