【One Day in Sharjah】A Local Experience Beyond the Glitz
Sharjah, known as the “City of Museums”, offers a rich cultural journey far from the typical luxury image of the UAE. Rain Room 💧 11:30-12:30 Lunch at The Arabian Tea House 🍴 12:30-13:30 Blue Souk (Blue Market) 🛍️ 14:00-15:00 🌟 Islamic Civilization Museum Entry: 10 AED 💵 This museum showcases the rich history of Islamic civilization with over 5,000 artifacts from the 7th to the 14th century. Though not crowded, it’s perfect for a relaxed visit. Don’t miss the stunning blue starry dome on the third floor 🌌✨! Also, the fridge magnets on the first floor are quite pretty 🧲. 💧 Rain Room Entry: 25 AED 💧 A photogenic spot where you can walk through rain without getting (too) wet—if you move slowly! Note: It’s almost impossible to stay completely dry, and the space is fairly small. Optional visit depending on your interest 📸. 🍴 The Arabian Tea House A very local restaurant in the Heart of Sharjah, serving authentic Arabic food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended! 🥘 Breakfast is only available before 12:30—try the naan with scrambled eggs and tomatoes 🍳, and don’t miss their unique drinks 🥤. It was fascinating to watch local Arab families dining together 👨👩👧👦. 🏡 Al Midfa Majlis Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the exact location of Al Midfa Majlis 🧐. The area seemed to have been turned into cafés and the Chedi Hotel. If you know where it is, please share in the comments! 🛍️ Blue Souk (Blue Trainhead Market) The exterior is eye-catching 🚂, but inside it’s a generic market. I found it a bit boring and ended up heading to Dubai Mall shortly after. Overall, Sharjah offered a deep dive into authentic Arab culture 🧡. Though some spots didn’t fully meet expectations, the local vibe was a rare and valuable experience. If you’re planning a trip to the UAE, consider spending a day in Sharjah for a taste of local life beyond the luxury. #RomanceThroughTheAges #Sharjah #UAE #UAETravel #SharjahTourism
