✈️ 2-Day Self-Drive in Portland
📕 This is a packed-but-not-tiring itinerary for mid-July. Perfect for friends short on time to reference! 🚗 Route: Multnomah Falls → Cannon Beach → Garibaldi → Cape Meares Beach → Tillamook Creamery → Trillium Lake 🏞️ Day 1 ① Multnomah Falls (P3-P5)It didn’t feel super special to me— the waterfall isn’t huge but is quite tall (P3). There are easy trails; the top is just 1 mile away. We only went to the middle platform, and the view was still nice (P4) 🚶.⚠️ Two parking lots: The pre-purchased pass works for the large lot. Navigate directly to “Multnomah Falls Parking”— it has more spots and is cheaper. Don’t park at the small lot across from the gift shop like we did (it cost $20 😰)!On the way back to downtown, you can stop by Wahkeena Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Latourell Falls— all beautiful 🌊. ② Cannon Beach (P6)It’s the same spot as the Microsoft desktop wallpaper 🖼️, but go in the evening! We arrived in the afternoon, and the sun was too harsh— all our photos turned out as dark silhouettes 😂.There are public binoculars on the beach for bird-watching 🐦, plus fun science talks. Driving south along Highway 101 offers amazing views (P7). We stayed overnight in the small town of Garibaldi 🏡. 🦌 Day 2③ Cape Meares Beach (P8)We left at 9 AM, and the fog was so thick— the visibility felt like the movie Silent Hill 😆. But we took a wrong turn and accidentally saw a cute roe deer 🦌! We drove around the mountain to the coastal lighthouse, but it was cold and overcast— not very impressive. ④ Tillamook Creamery (P9-P11)It opens at 10:00 AM. Head to the 2nd floor to watch the factory workshop directly 🏭. The ice cream is delicious, not greasy, and cheap 🍦. The gift shop is great— the logo colors make you want to buy everything 🛍️. The cows aren’t Tillamook’s; they’re from a nearby ranch. Getting close smells pretty bad though… ⑤ Trillium Lake (P12-14)My most anticipated hidden gem! The clear lake reflects Mount Hood’s snowy peaks, forests, blue sky, and white clouds— as beautiful as a postcard 😍.People swim and kayak on the lake 🛶, and ducks come to join in the fun 🦆.⚠️ You don’t have to pay cash for parking— $10 by card works too. #Portland #Oregon #TravelTheWorld
