🍽️ Asheville, NC | Red Ginger — A Confused Dining Experience 🥲

Red Ginger is one of the few Chinese restaurants in downtown Asheville. I went in with low expectations after reading mixed reviews, but I was craving dim sum that night… Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of those “try-hard-but-misses-the-mark” places. Here’s the tea: 🦆 “Duck Noodle Soup” I expected roasted duck over rice noodles… but got chewy duck breast with rubbery skin. Surprisingly, this was still the best dish of the night. 🌯 Tofu Skin Roll Vegetarian version—decent but a bit too salty. 🦐 Har Gow ($8 for 4) Tasted exactly like the frozen ones from the supermarket. Not worth $2 per piece—skip it! 🥟 Sheng Jian Bao (Pan-Fried Pork Buns) First bite: no filling. Second bite: filling’s gone 🥹. Not crispy—seemed steamed then lightly pan-fried. Major letdown. 🍣 Dynamite Roll We ordered this because we were still hungry… The roll fell apart as soon as I picked it up. Flavors were just okay. 📋 Overall Thoughts: The menu tries to do too much—dim sum, wok dishes, sushi—but excels at none. As someone from Guangdong, I can confirm the dim sum is not up to standard ❌. Won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for authentic Chinese flavors. Restaurant Info Name: Red Ginger Dimsum & Tapas Price: Around $30 per person Address: 82 Patton Ave Suite 100, Asheville, NC 28801 #AshevilleEats #NCChineseFood #DimSumFail #FoodReview #AshevilleNC #NotRecommended
