✈️ Exploring Portland’s Forest “Airplane Home” with Kids 🧒

After my kid’s afternoon nap, we headed out to visit a Boeing 727 hidden in the forest! It’s not a museum exhibit—instead, it’s a “home” renovated by Bruce Campbell, a real person. It’s simply awesome! 😎 📍 Location: Hillsboro, OregonA 40-minute drive from downtown Portland takes you to this lush forest. The airplane sits quietly among the trees, like a secret base in a fairy tale 🌳. 👀 External Visit: No Reservation NeededIf you only want to take photos outside, no reservation is required—you can come anytime 📸. We arrived around 5 PM, and the sun shone on the plane’s body, making every photo turn out fantastic ✨. ✉️ Internal Visit: Advance Reservation RequiredTo tour the inside of the plane, you need to book in advance by sending an email through Bruce’s official website, airplanehome.com 🖥️. Note that Bruce lives in Japan for half the year, so be sure to confirm his local availability before planning your visit 🗓️. 👨‍👩‍👧 Family Experience: Education Through FunKids are full of curiosity about this “inhabitable airplane,” asking all kinds of questions as they explore 🤔. It’s a perfect opportunity for edutainment, letting them learn about airplane structures and environmental protection concepts 🌱. 📸 Photography TipsVisit in the morning or evening— the soft light makes for better photos. You can even stand on the wing to take pictures! 🛫 🚗 Transportation AdviceIf it’s cloudy or rainy, it’s better to take a taxi 🚕. A section of the mountain road is extremely muddy, making driving difficult, and you can’t park at the foot of the mountain either (see photos 5 and 6 for reference 📷). This trip to the “Airplane Home” not only opened the kids’ eyes but also gave our whole family precious memories 🥰. If you’re planning a family trip to Portland, don’t miss this amazing spot full of creativity and eco-friendly ideas! #PortlandTravel #EcoFriendly #Education
