π₯οΈ Harbor Tour in Long Beach, Los Angeles
Started my day by exploring Shoreline Aquatic Park and stumbled upon this boat tour at the pier! π There were two options: Harbor Tour for $20 π₯οΈ, or Whale Watching for $50/$55 (weekends $55) π³. I went with the Harbor Tour β and it did not disappoint! π’ The boat had live commentary throughout the ride. We set off through the channel between the lighthouse and Shoreline Village, getting up close to the historic Queen Mary ocean liner π’ and the dome-shaped cruise terminal. Then we cruised toward the container port, where two cargo ships were docked β one from Wan Hai and one from COSCO! π¦ π The Long Beach breakwater is the longest human-made breakwater in the world π, with two entrance channels. This port is one of the busiest in the U.S., so even outside the harbor, youβll see lots of ships anchored β mostly bulk carriers and tankers. β½ We also passed the THUMS Islands β artificial islands used for oil storage owned by petroleum companies. And guess what? We spotted sea lions lounging on rocky buoys! π¦ There was even a seagull flying alongside our boat at the exact same speed β so I got a super clear photo πΈ! π If youβre into ships, harbors, or just being on the water, this tour is a must-do! Highly recommend π #LosAngeles #LongBeach #California #HarborTour #Shipping #CruiseLife #ContainerShips #SeaAdventure
