🗺️ How to Make the Most of Ithaca? 🍃

Besides the waterfalls, stunning views, and Finger Lakes I shared earlier, you can’t talk about Ithaca without mentioning Cornell—one of the most beautiful campuses in the U.S. (and in my heart, it takes the #1 spot 😉). Here’s my tried-and-true campus treasure map—no clichés, no tourist traps! 🏛️ Must-Visit Photo Spots ✨ The Slope + McGraw Tower This iconic view was literally my high school computer wallpaper 🖥️🥹. It’s even more magical at sunset! The layered architecture against the distant hills and lake is simply breathtaking. 🌅 ✨ Baker Flagpole & Arcade If you know a Cornellian, you’ve seen their graduation photos here 🎓. With grand windows and a vintage colonnade, it’s a perfect photo spot. One side overlooks Libe Slope and the clocktower, the other opens to sweeping lake and mountain views. 🏞️ ✨ Uris Library A Harry Potter-esque library that’s every lover’s dream! 🧙‍♂️📚 The reading nooks by the windows also offer gorgeous lake views. ✨ Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art Designed by I.M. Pei 🏛️, this building uses light, shadow, and oversized windows to blend art with Ithaca’s natural beauty. The exhibitions vary, but the architecture alone is worth the visit. ✨ Cornell Botanic Garden A personal favorite 🌸—a delicate, thoughtfully designed garden that also serves as a research site for herbal studies. ✨ Triphammer Falls A powerful waterfall right on campus—no hiking required! 💦 🍦 Must-Try Local Eats ✨ Cornell Dairy Bar Ithaca might be a “food desert,” but this place is a gem! 🐄🍦 They use milk produced right at Cornell—creamy, rich, and available in tons of flavors. You can even mail-order some goodies! ✨ Collegetown Bagels Maybe not the best bagel in all of NY, but it’s a Cornell institution! 🥯 (Same goes for Saigon Kitchen for pho 🍜—highly recommended when you’re tired of dining hall food lol.) 💡 Tips for Your Visit The Arcade, Slope, Clocktower, and Uris Library are all within walking distance 🚶‍♀️. The Falls, Botanic Garden, and Dairy Bar are clustered together too. Visit the Slope and Tower around sunset for the best light & views 🌇. If it’s too sunny, hit the library or grab ice cream first! Ready to explore? Ithaca is waiting! ✨ #Ithaca #Cornell #UpstateNY #WeekendGetaway #TravelGuide #NewYorkDayTrip #IthacaGuide
