🏛️ LA Day Trip: Getty Center + Villa & Santa Monica Sunset 🌅

▪️ Getty Center – A luminous white palace suspended above the city, where clean modern lines slice through the California sun. Home to Van Gogh’s "Irises" — those swirling blues and purples feel like they could set your soul on fire. Monet’s originals (my personal favorite) are all in the West Pavilion. Then, step into the Getty Villa and be transported to ancient Rome — lush, lavish, and timeless. Both are my favorite spots in LA — perfect for a relaxed picnic or a slow afternoon tea. ▪️ The two campuses are ~30 mins apart — reserve separately (free) via: 🅿️ Parking: $25/day at Getty Center (card only upstairs, cash downstairs) 🚌 Tram ride up to the hilltop campus included 💡 Pro Tip: After paying at the Center, tell staff you’re heading to the Villa — they’ll give you a coupon for free parking there! ▪️ 👏 Shoutout to both Getty locations — they offer free pads & tampons in restrooms. Easy to spot and super helpful in a pinch! ▪️ Santa Monica at Dusk Watched the sun dip like a soft golden yolk into the Pacific, painting the sky in gentle shades of peach and pink. While not mind-blowing, it’s still a classic sunset spot. 🅿️ Parking Structure 6 – 90 mins free ⏳ Arrive 30 mins before sunset for a smooth shoot by the shore. 🕒 Hours: Getty Center: Closed Mon | Tue–Fri & Sun 10:00–18:30 | Sat 10:00–21:00 Getty Villa: Closed Tue | Mon & Wed–Sun 10:00–17:00 #GettyCenter #GettyVilla #SantaMonicaSunset #LAArtDay #VanGoghInLA #MonetMoments
