🍽️ Montreal Restaurant Guide: Hits & Misses
For a road trip to see whales 🐋, our first stop was Montreal—where finding good restaurants and parking spots was a challenge! Here’s my honest take on the places we tried (some from Red, others from locals, and a few random Google Maps finds). 🍴 Deville Dinerbar 📍 1425 Stanley St, Montreal ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First meal in Montreal! Requires reservations. Badgirl Pasta is great (except for the seafood—skip it). Steak warning: Their "medium-rare" is more like rare—a friend got food poisoning. 😬 Portions are huge (consider sharing). Service is excellent! 🍴 Le Quartier Général du Vieux Beloeil 📍 940 Boul Laurier, Beloeil ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Random Google Maps find—SO GOOD! Amazing sandwiches, quiet atmosphere. French-only menu, but staff speak English. 🍴 Cafe Du Vieux Beloeil 📍 934 Rue Richelieu, Beloeil ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Landlord-recommended brunch—INSANELY DELICIOUS! Only the manager speaks English, so expect a wait during peak hours. Ask for recommendations—everything we tried was fantastic. Huge portions, and they serve coffee instead of water (love it!). 🍴 Le Lotus Bleu (Chinatown) 📍 988 St Laurent Blvd, Montreal ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Chinese menu available, top-notch service. Must-try dishes: Spicy intestines, chicken rice noodles, string beans, wood ear mushrooms, and pork throat (all incredible). 🍵 Momoko Comptoir Asiatique 📍 684 Mnt Montarville, Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tasty overall (4.6 on Google Maps). Staff patiently explained the French menu in English—very kind! BUT DO NOT ORDER SASHIMI! 🚫🍣 Food poisoning nightmare—spent the whole night in pain. Final Tips: ✔ Book ahead for popular spots. ✔ Check reviews carefully (especially for raw dishes). ✔ When in doubt, ask locals! #MontrealEats #FoodieFinds #RestaurantReviews #TravelTips
