🏔️ Mount Rainier in September will definitely make you fall in love

🌟For the Labor Day long weekend, we decided to check out the Skyline Trail at Mount Rainier. The snow-capped mountains, waterfalls, wildflowers, and little animals finally made it clear why this place is called Paradise! 🌟Since our reservation was for 11am-1pm, we left Portland at 8am and drove for two and a half hours to reach the entrance. After queuing for over half an hour, we entered and headed straight for the Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center! Around noon, the nearest parking lot was basically full, but you can park on the side of the road or in a farther parking lot and walk over. 🌟There’s only one dry toilet along the entire trail, so I strongly suggest using the restroom before you start. Also, since the visitor center closes at 5pm, it’s a good idea to buy souvenirs like fridge magnets in advance! And don’t forget sunscreen❗️ It gets really sunny up on the mountain. 🌟We started around 1pm, going clockwise first, then taking the Golden Gate Trail shortcut down the mountain, returning to the starting point around 5pm. In the afternoon, Myrtle Falls will be in the shade, so if you want to take photos, you can go counterclockwise to the waterfall first and then clockwise up the mountain. 🌟As for water, one person will probably consume about 1L. The initial ascent is really tiring with a significant climb, but it gets cooler as you approach the snow-capped mountain. The descent is easier, and you might even see groundhogs and chipmunks posing for photos quite cooperatively! #Seattle #MountRainier #SeattleSurroundings #Portland #MountRainierSnowyMountain
