🌶️ Philadelphia Sichuan Food|The “White Moonlight” Restaurant
Chengdu Famous Foods in University City was my go-to spot for so long. Back when I lived closer, I’d go regularly for a Sichuan-style tapas feast — all the carbs, all the flavor! It’s the only place in Philly where you can find Yibin Ranmian, Sweet Water Noodles, Guokui, Spicy Pig Trotter, and more.👍🙌 Whenever I felt homesick, I’d come here. This time, I noticed they added Mala Xiang Guo — had to try it! The flavor is different from other spots — they probably developed their own seasoning blend.😂😊 The “extra spicy” level was fierce, salty, fragrant, and tasted just like a Chengdu-style dry pot. It’s not exactly cheap — two of us spent $80+ after tip, but we had enough leftovers for another full meal.😁 With today’s prices, still pretty decent! I’ve known the chef here for years — we always greet in Sichuan dialect and catch up a bit. He often says, “Next year I’m retiring and going back to Chengdu,” which makes me worried I won’t get to eat here anymore 😢. So if you’re near University City — don’t miss it!!! #PhillyEats #SichuanFood #ChengduFamousFoods #MalaXiangGuo #UniversityCityPhilly
