🍽️ Tried 31-Year-Old Sourdough in LA! 🌱
Went with a friend to Le Comptoir, a Michelin-recommended vegan restaurant inside K-town’s Normandie Hotel. A full plant-based fine dining experience with 6 courses — and what a journey it was! 🥣 Amuse-bouche A crispy bite with a yogurt-like dip — incredibly tasty and refreshing. Great start! 🌽 Corn Soup Classic, comforting, and hard to mess up — delicious as expected. 🥗 Farm Veggie & Fruit Medley Everything was grown in the chef’s own organic farm! Loved tasting the true flavors of each ingredient — some pickled, some fresh. Except for the super bitter bitter melon, everything was a delight. Not easy to make veggies this exciting! 🍞 31-Year-Old Sourdough Yes — older than me! Sour, but not overpowering. A must-try for the story alone. (Alternative: scallops) 🍚 White Truffle Risotto The chef shaved generous amounts of white truffle — way more than expected! Risotto was al dente with a noticeable wine flavor — a perfect match with the truffle. Dish of the night! (Alternative: asparagus — pretty average) 🍄 Mushroom Medley Well-executed, but mushrooms are a vegan menu staple. Solid, but not mind-blowing. (Alternative: U.S. Wagyu beef) 🍫 Banana Chocolate Bread Pudding Just the right amount of sweetness — a lovely, cozy dessert. (Alternative: cheese plate — skipped upon hearing “blue cheese” 😅) ☕ Coffee Their coffee is a specialty — order it at the start. My friend loved it; even I (a non-coffee drinker) could appreciate the aroma. 📄 Menu and restaurant info attached. A thoughtful, flavorful meal — highly recommended for vegans or anyone curious about plant-based fine dining! #LeComptoirLA #VeganFineDining #MichelinRecommended #PlantBasedLA #SourdoughStory
