⭐️ Two-Day Trip to Caddo Lake Near Dallas, Texas!
😝I went to Dallas to meet up with friends. Since I’ve been there many times and have seen all the usual spots, we decided to plan a little getaway with a large group of friends and family. Day One: We set off around 1 or 2 pm and drove for over three hours to our Airbnb, which was located near Waskom, Texas. After settling in, we went out for dinner at a nearby restaurant. 🌺Day Two: Early in the morning, we drove to Caddo Lake, about a 30-minute drive from our Airbnb. We visited Johnson’s Ranch Marina for a boat tour. It’s best to book in advance; since we arrived without a reservation, we only had the option for a noon tour. The tour lasted about an hour and included a guided narration, which I found quite informative. We saw plenty of wild birds, though unfortunately no alligators. The water lilies on the lake were stunning, especially when we ventured deeper into the lake—it felt like a fairyland. After the boat tour, we drove to the town of Jefferson, about a 30-minute drive away. The town is charming, with beautiful architecture and great restaurants. 🍰It also has a museum dedicated to the movie Gone with the Wind. If you’re a fan of the film, this museum is a must-visit, as it houses an impressive collection of memorabilia, claiming to be the largest private collection in the world! We spent some time exploring the museum. Around 3 or 4 pm, we headed back to Dallas. Overall, it was a very relaxing trip. It wasn’t tiring, and it definitely felt like a refreshing getaway! I highly recommend it! #DallasLife #NearbyDallas #TexasTravel #DallasTrip #TravelInTexas
