🍽️ Vancouver Food Diary – Hits & Misses!
1⃣️ Kook Korean BBQ Restaurant 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (Best K-BBQ in Town!) 📍 2800 E 1st Ave #211A, Vancouver The meat here is NEXT LEVEL. Perfectly marbled, thinly sliced—charred outside, juicy inside. Comes with 15 banchan sides (I devoured 5 plates of fish cakes alone 🐟🔥). Downside? Pricey. ~90/person (with drinks), ~70 without. But worth every penny! 2⃣️ Sushi Mura 🌟🌟🌟 (Budget Sushi Fix) 📍 5508 Hollybridge Way #115, Richmond (Oak St branch too) Solid pick for affordable sushi! ✔ Thick-cut sashimi (fresh at Rmd location!) ✔ Spicy salmon sashimi = creamy salmon + crunchy cucumber. ✖ Skip the okonomiyaki—it’s just "weird batter with seafood," per my friend. ~$30/person—no-frills, no regrets. 3⃣️ Chang’an 🌟🌟🌟🌟 📍 1661 Granville St, Vancouver One of Van’s "Big 4 Duck Kings" (my ranking 😎). 🦆 Duck highlights: ✔ Fatty, crispy skin with 2 dipping styles: • Classic sweet bean sauce + scallions/cucumber • Strawberry jam + pear (…interesting?) ✖ Duck bone dishes fail: • "Duck" soup tastes like water. • Salt-pepper bones = oily AF. 🍽 Other hits: Spicy conch, lychee shrimp, "gourd chicken." Skip: Pepper beef (meat’s paper-thin), dry "roujiamo." Price: 70–150/person (depends how fancy you go). 4⃣️ Le Yuan Dessert 🌟🌟🌟🌟 (Nostalgic Shaved Ice!) 📍 4940 No. 3 Rd #115, Richmond (Granville branch too) Tastes like childhood! Simple shaved ice + condensed milk = sweet, fluffy bliss. ✔ Tofu pudding—soy-rich and smooth. ✖ Mille crepe—meh cream texture. ⚠️ Topping warning: Some look like "artificial dye" nightmares (thanks, mom trauma). #VancouverEats #FoodieDiary #BestBites #DuckLover #BudgetEats
