🌊☀️ Weekend Getaway in the Bay Area|Alila Ventana Big Sur

📍 48123 CA-1, Big Sur, CA 93920 Approximately a 3-hour drive from the Bay Area, and about an hour south of Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea. Alila Ventana joined the Hyatt portfolio in 2018. The regular room rate is $2200+ per night, but using Hyatt points is much more cost-effective—currently, rates for 2025 are 66k or 90k points per night. This is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort, but it’s incredibly dog-friendly! 🐕 Many guests bring their furry friends along. Luna had the best time ever—so many treats and fun moments! The pet fee is 150 per dog + 12 for a puppy meal. 🦴 The hotel features three types of pools: • A seaside-view swimming pool 🌊 • A jacuzzi nestled among redwoods 🌲 • A Japanese-style hot spring ♨️ The food is delicious—some even say it’s better than the Michelin-starred Shelby’s in the Bay Area! The all-inclusive rate covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Only alcoholic drinks and certain premium entries cost extra. All food and service charges are included. In-room dining incurs a 10% service fee. (You can even enjoy a complimentary lunch after an 11:00 AM checkout! 🥂) With a strong eco-friendly ethos, the hotel doesn’t provide bottled water. Instead, guests are given reusable cups to fill with filtered mountain spring water at hydration stations. 💧🌿 A variety of activities are available: hiking, mixology, axe throwing, beekeeping, soap making, and more. While hiking and farm tours are free, most other activities require an additional fee. We joined two hiking tours and a beekeeping session—the Bee Keeping experience was super interesting! 🐝 (More on that in the next post!) Though the service and surroundings may not quite match the all-inclusive resorts in Asia or Mexico, the hotel blends beautifully with the natural environment of Big Sur—offering both ocean views and redwood forest serenity. 🌅🍃 Perfect for Bay Area workers looking for a peaceful weekend escape! 🧘✨ #Workation #WeekendEscape #MountainRetreat #BayAreaLife #BayAreaWeekend #HiddenGemResort #SecludedLuxury
