🍽️ What I Ate in 4 Meals Across Victoria & Nanaimo

1️⃣ Victoria Pocha 🇰🇷 As someone who loves Korean food and has tried countless spots, I can confidently say their braised pork knuckle (Jokbal) is THE BEST I've ever had—way better than anything in Coquitlam's Koreatown! 🤯 The meat was unbelievably tender, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth perfect. 10/10 would recommend—this dish alone is worth the visit! 👑 2️⃣ Kuma Noodle Japan 🐻🍜 Located near UVic, this place is basically a student food sanctuary! While it's called a ramen shop, their donburi (rice bowls) are the REAL stars—the best I've ever tasted, even better than their noodles! 🍚 The sweet Japanese grandma owner speaks limited English (basic orders are fine), but you'll need translation for deeper conversation—or just brush up on your Japanese! 🇯🇵 3️⃣ Lighthouse Bistro & Pub 🦪🌊 Our oyster stop in Nanaimo! Originally wanted to harvest our own oysters but ran out of time/tools. At $3.99 each, these were pricier than expected, but succulent and fresh. Also tried their fried chicken, mussels, and cod tacos—the mussels and tacos were delicious highlights! 🎣 + Bonus Snacks 🍫 Also munched on Vancouver-brought snacks and fast food between adventures! Final Thoughts: ✔️ Victoria Pocha = Must-visit for Korean food lovers ✔️ Kuma = Hidden gem for donburi (not just ramen!) ✔️ Lighthouse = Great seafood with waterfront views #CanadaLife #VancouverIsland #VictoriaBC #NanaimoEats #VancouverFoodie #TravelBC #RichmondBC #FoodAdventures 🗺️🍴✨
