𝑵𝑶𝑳𝑨 | New Orleans 3-Day & 2-Night Chill Itinerary ˚⊹₊ ⋆

Accommodation 🏠】 There’s really no need to stay in the French Quarter! It feels like you’d be woken up by the noise at night. NOLA isn’t big, and taxis are cheap—except for rides from the airport, none of our fares cost over $20. We booked a vacation rental in the 70721 zip code. 【Drinks ☕️】 ❶ Avenue Cafe 🌱 You have to try New Orleans-style coffee—it’s amazing! It’s made with chicory, a herb whose roots are roasted, ground, and blended into the coffee. This tradition originated in France and became a part of New Orleans’ unique culture~ [thumbs up][thumbs up][thumbs up] ❷ Cafe du Monde They also serve the coffee mentioned above. Their desserts are similar to fried doughnuts or sweet fried bread—pretty tasty! Some locations are cash-only, so keep that in mind. 【Food 🍽️】 ❶ Cochon The complimentary pre-meal bread lives up to the hype—it was so good we ordered a second round! We recommend the oysters and fried alligator, but the rabbit ravioli was just so-so. ❷ Felix Both the raw oysters and garlic-roasted oysters were incredible!! They tasted like something you’d get at a night market back home. Though the complimentary baguette was harder than a rock 👍. The shrimp was also super delicious—highly recommended. ❸ Two Chicks Cafe Portions are huge and it’s great value for money! The toast was delicious—soft and not overly sweet. The fruit was fresh and not sour. The crab croissant had a slight fishy taste, though. Some coffee options come with free refills, and you can even take leftovers to go. ❹ Big EZ (HUGE AVOID! ⚠️) I’ve always thought I have a strong tolerance for bold flavors, but the food here was unbearably salty. The prices were on the high side, the food came out lukewarm, and the corn was even cold. To top it off, tips were calculated after taxes—and they even suggested a 40% tip! ❺ Rex House Kitchen & Courtyard We just walked in randomly while in the French Quarter, but the pasta was surprisingly delicious. They have outdoor seating, and the staff were really nice. 【Activities 🐊】 ❶ French Quarter Whether day or night, the French Quarter is surrounded by music everywhere. You’ll see bubbles floating through the air, jazz bands playing while smoking cigarettes, and enthusiastic tourists and locals alike. It’s within walking distance of Bourbon Street (the bar district), but the street gets really sketchy at night—always go with a group!!! PS: Mahogany Jazz Hall is absolutely fantastic—we recommend stopping by for a drink and soaking up the vibe. I don’t know much about jazz, but even I was moved by the free-spirited, romantic atmosphere [sniffles]. ❷ Swamp Tour ! I really recommend the swamp tour we took—super fun and the guides were responsible. ❸ Oak Alley Plantation It’s about a 2-hour drive from downtown. The tour lasts around 25 minutes and covers the plantation’s history. If history isn’t your thing, the old mansion and oak grove are still incredibly photogenic—it’s such a beautiful spot! #NewOrleans #NOLAItinerary #NewOrleansFood #InternationalStudentLife #100WaysToTravel #InDepthTravelGuide #EasternUSTravel #SoloTrip #NOLATravel
