π¦πΊ $1200 Cairns & Great Barrier Reef Getaway
After working non-stop, I suddenly felt the urge for a holiday ποΈ. Since I have friends in Cairns, I decided to plan a diving trip there. It was my first time snorkeling ever, and I got to see the colorful corals and little fish of the Great Barrier Reef π π’. The UV rays were super strong though β got a bit sunburned after a day out on the water π βοΈ. Kuranda Rainfelt a bit commercialized β kinda reminded me of the Blue Mountains in Sydney πΏ. Went to Palm Cove tooβ¦ it was okay. But I saw wild wallabies for the first time in Australia β and a whole bunch of them! π¦π¨ Fitzroy Island had super rocky shores β really rough on the feet πͺ¨. Didnβt see much coral while snorkeling, but spotted a turtle from the glass-bottom boat! π’ The buffet on the island wasβ¦ very white-people food π¬. Only the prawns and fruit were edible π€π. The ocean by Cairns city isnβt blue, but the lagoon pool is pretty nice πββοΈ. Food in Cairns was great though β skewers, noodles, Thai cuisineβ¦ all delicious! ππ’π₯ Lots of Japanese and Thai tourists around too! Biggest takeaway: The famous Great Barrier Reef isnβt just in my junior high geography textbook β itβs right in front of my eyes. ππ #Australia #Cairns #GreatBarrierReef #Diving #TravelAustralia
