πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί $1200 Cairns & Great Barrier Reef Getaway

After working non-stop, I suddenly felt the urge for a holiday πŸ–οΈ. Since I have friends in Cairns, I decided to plan a diving trip there. It was my first time snorkeling ever, and I got to see the colorful corals and little fish of the Great Barrier Reef 🐠🐒. The UV rays were super strong though – got a bit sunburned after a day out on the water πŸ˜…β˜€οΈ. Kuranda Rainfelt a bit commercialized – kinda reminded me of the Blue Mountains in Sydney 🌿. Went to Palm Cove too… it was okay. But I saw wild wallabies for the first time in Australia – and a whole bunch of them! πŸ¦˜πŸ’¨ Fitzroy Island had super rocky shores – really rough on the feet πŸͺ¨. Didn’t see much coral while snorkeling, but spotted a turtle from the glass-bottom boat! 🐒 The buffet on the island was… very white-people food 😬. Only the prawns and fruit were edible πŸ€πŸ‰. The ocean by Cairns city isn’t blue, but the lagoon pool is pretty nice πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ. Food in Cairns was great though – skewers, noodles, Thai cuisine… all delicious! 🍜🍒πŸ₯˜ Lots of Japanese and Thai tourists around too! Biggest takeaway: The famous Great Barrier Reef isn’t just in my junior high geography textbook – it’s right in front of my eyes. πŸ‘€πŸ’™ #Australia #Cairns #GreatBarrierReef #Diving #TravelAustralia
