🇦🇺 Albany EP.1 TapAsia Asian Tapas

Hidden in a semi-basement spot along a downtown Albany street, this Thai-inspired tapas restaurant offers a clean, cozy, and vibe-filled setting—perfect for a casual meal. 🥗 Green Papaya Salad We opted for medium spicy—and it definitely brought the heat! 🔥 The spice hit hard, almost like Sriracha-level intensity. The papaya strips were fresh and crunchy, with no sour notes. A solid appetizer to wake up your taste buds! 🍜 Pad Thai (Stir-Fried Rice Noodles) Not your typical Pad Thai! They use thin rice noodles instead of wide ones, and the flavor leaned surprisingly toward sweet and sour—almost like sweet-and-sour pork 😮‍💨 The texture was sticky, but if you go in without expectations, it’s actually pretty tasty! 🍲 Tom Yum Seafood Soup A generously loaded bowl! The broth was on the sweeter side—enough spice, but could’ve used more tanginess. The tom yum flavor was a bit mild, but the seafood portion saved the day: 3 large prawns, a scallop, and a mussel 🦐🐚 It also came with rice noodles, making it a filling meal for one. 💵 Total for three: $60 (before tip) 👩‍🍳 Service: Neutral—neither standout nor disappointing. 📍 Address: 227 Lark St Albany, NY 12210 #AlbanyEats #TapAsiaAlbany #ThaiTapas #AsianFusion #FoodReview #AlbanyNY #NYFoodie #NotYourAveragePadThai #TomYumTime #SpicyLovers
