Albany + Syracuse Restaurants
Stopped by two great restaurants in New York's capital, Albany, and Syracuse. The food was satisfying 😌, though the prices felt comparable to NYC—maybe we just ordered a lot! 🏛️ Athos Restaurant (Albany) The ambiance was lovely. We visited in the afternoon and were the only ones dining. The classic Mediterranean-style decor and window views were pleasant, and the hydrangeas in the courtyard were in full bloom. We would have loved to sit outside, but it wasn’t open. 💐 Dishes we tried: ✔️Appetizer: Zucchini chips – thinly sliced, crispy batter with a soft interior, paired with a delicious dipping sauce. Mediterranean dips never disappoint! The kalamarakia (fried calamari) was also decent. ✔️Mains: Beef filet and lamb chops – a bit underwhelming. The meat quality was average, so perhaps the fish dishes would have been a better choice. 🍸Drink: Lavender Daisy – a beautifully named Greek-inspired cocktail, though the taste was just okay. 🍰Dessert: We also tried one of their desserts #Syracuse #AlbanyEats #UpstateNY #NYCFood#foodguide#Albany#travelguide#Albanylife
