🇦🇺 Where to visit in Canberra | I finally got to hold a wombat!

📍 Taralga Wildlife Park 🕐 10am-4pm 🗺️ It’s about a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Canberra. ⚠️ There will be no signal about 20 minutes away from the farm 📶, so remember to download an offline map in advance! 🎫 Student ticket: 18 AUD (Don’t forget your student ID!! Any country’s is acceptable!) Adult ticket: 22.5 AUD. No reservations needed! Most animals can be held and petted! It’s really worth the ticket price. ✅ Guys, make sure to wear black clothes that are easy to wash! If you go on a rainy day, remember to wear shoes that are easy to clean! Because the ground is all mud and puddles—stepping in with white shoes will be a nightmare! ✅ Wombat holding time: Wombats take a short break at noon, but the farm staff are very nice. If you happen to arrive during their rest time, just tell them, and they’ll let the wombats out for interaction! We arrived around 1pm. There were two wombats—one big and one small, one male and one female. The little wombat was so naughty, always trying to sneak up on the big one. The big one had a bad temper and they easily got into fights. They’re really solid! Their fur is a bit prickly, but they’re very well-behaved when held! Feel free to cuddle them! Maybe because we went in winter, they didn’t smell bad—just a bit muddy. ✅ There are other small animals on the farm: Donkeys, camels, goats, white kangaroos, rabbits, parrots, peacocks, etc. They’re all cute! Except for that goat that kicked me 🐐! Check out picture 18 for the evidence it left—a huge black footprint! ✅ You’ll get free carrots and hay 🍀 to feed the animals when you enter. Please remember: when you encounter goats 🐐, hide the food! Because they’ll jump on you to snatch it! #Canberra #SydneySurrounds #ANU #AustralianInternationalStudents #HolidayDaily #HolidayMoments #WhatToDoInCanberra #Wombat #TaralgaZoo
