We love you, Canberra

📍📍It feels like the opposite of Sydney—serene, calm, and low-key, with an even better ecological environment. When you make eye contact with people passing by, you’ll get a big smile in return! 🔥🔥🔥We did a day trip from Sydney, taking the Murrays bus, which took about three hours. Along the way, there were flocks of cattle and sheep, and vast stretches of alpine meadow pastures—absolutely beautiful! After getting off the bus, we first went to Supa 24 convenience store to buy a transit card. For students, the 2.5 AUD card issuance fee plus 5 AUD credit was enough for the whole day. Then we walked 10 minutes to the Australian National University (ANU). My friend and I are from UNSW and USYD respectively, so it’s like visiting a "sibling school." After that, we walked back about a kilometer to the city center to eat at Kinn Tai, which has been getting a lot of buzz. The soft-shell crab is a must-order, and the average cost per person was 40 AUD. Next, we took a bus to the National Gallery of Australia to see Monet’s Water Lilies. We happened to run into a group of primary school students having an art class there—so envy! Their art lessons are held directly in the national gallery, where they listen to the teacher explain while looking at the actual paintings. Outside the gallery, there were (vast stretches of woods). As expected of a capital city, the landscaping is fantastic, which is why there were flocks of parrots and even wild rabbits! After walking another 10 minutes or so, we reached the Old Parliament House. They give you a map at the entrance. Besides visiting the meeting chambers, the costume experience area is a must—so much fun! The entire Old Parliament House has a smell of old furniture, which really draws you into the atmosphere. Right behind it is the New Parliament House, but we didn’t go in. After feeling like we’d seen enough of the meeting chambers, we headed straight to the Royal Australian Mint. Because we took the wrong bus earlier, we arrived only half an hour before closing time. We quickly looked around—it’s not very big. We checked out the factory, tried designing our own coins, and finally bought a birth-year commemorative coin at the shop before taking the bus back to the bus station. It was an incredibly unexpected day—highly recommended! Oh, and it was my first time seeing shared electric scooters. They looked so elegant! ❤️❤️❤️ #Canberra #Sydney #Capital #StudyAbroadPlog
