🇧🇦 Sarajevo: Europe’s Most Delicious & Affordable Capital
Balkan cuisine blends Asian and European flavors—and Bosnian food deeply satisfies Chinese taste buds! Though it may not always look Instagram-perfect, the taste never disappoints. I even brought instant noodles worried I wouldn’t adapt, but ended up wishing I had more meals in a day 🙃 Here are local food recommendations (all personally tested): 1️⃣ Zeljo Their grilled beef kidneys are the best! Rich, smoky, and perfectly paired with apple vinegar and fresh salad. (I ate here three days in a row 😋) 2️⃣ Ćevabdžinica Željo (same family of restaurants) Their ćevapi (grilled sausages) are juicier and more flavorful than others. Next door, try the Burek (meat pie)—crispy, stuffed, and perfect with Ayran yogurt drink. A full breakfast for just €5! ☝️ 3️⃣ Inat Kuća A elegant restaurant by the river near City Hall. Slightly pricier but reasonable (similar to German prices). Their beef stew tastes like Jiangxi-style stir-fried pork—would be amazing with rice! 🍚 The meat-filled dumplings (looks dubious but tastes incredible!). 4️⃣ Asdz Ascinica A cafeteria-style spot loved by locals. Food is served on metal trays—don’t miss the stuffed peppers ! 💯 5️⃣ Another "canteen" (no name, but look for busy spots) Freshly made meatballs and savory broth over rice. Open kitchen, all dishes made to order. 6️⃣ Mrvica Try the pistachio cheesecake—ordinary cake but divine pistachio sauce! Also Lotus pancake. Their Spanish latte is worth the splurge. ☕ 7️⃣ Old Town Burger Joint A €6 cheeseburger with juicy, crispy patties beats KFC’s dry €5 burger by miles! 🍔 All these spots are within walking distance in the Old Town. #AuthenticTravelEats #StudentEats #GlobalCuisine #Bosnia #Sarajevo
