🇨🇦 A Stroll Through Waterloo-Kitchener Streets 🚶♂️🍂
Today was quite warm, and we were worried about too many bugs in the woods 🦟🌳, so the kids planned a paved walking loop along the streets instead. After parking, we started our walk through this old-money neighborhood—truly timeless! 🏡✨ The houses were all classic architecture, set far back from the road and hidden behind towering trees. The front gardens were meticulously landscaped, with perfectly trimmed hedges and elegant floral arrangements. The whole area was serene, with minimal traffic and few pedestrians—what a dreamy place to live! The houses I photographed were the few with visible architectural details; most of the grand estates were too secluded to capture properly 📸. Midway through, we heard live music from across the street 🎶—turns out, it was a community-organized music festival! Bands were performing on a set schedule, with different shows all weekend. Sadly, we just missed the 6 PM performance 🕕, and the next one wasn’t until 8 PM. The festival also had handmade craft stalls, but it was still quiet—probably because 6 PM is dinner time 🍽️ and the crowd hadn’t arrived yet. The last stretch of our walk took us along Kitchener’s main road, Westmount Road 🚗💨. Even after 7 PM, it was still busy and a bit chaotic—quite the contrast to the peaceful streets earlier! Final stats: 📍 6 km walked (~10,000 steps) ⏰ Sunset at 7:45 PM—fall evenings are coming earlier! 🍁🌆 If you’re planning an evening stroll, time it right! #WaterlooLife #LivingInToronto #KitchenerWaterloo 🚶♀️🍃
