🇨🇦 Calgary | 2-Day 1-Night Travel Guide (Part 2)
Day 2: Since our hotel was downtown, we started the day with a short 15-minute walk to our next destination. 📍 First Stop: Devonian Gardens Address: 4th Floor, CORE Shopping Centre, 317 7 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2P 0W4 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Why Go: A surprising urban garden tucked inside a shopping mall 🌿🌺. At first glance, it might not seem special, but it’s actually super photogenic! 📸 Recommended Time: 30 minutes — definitely worth a visit if you have time! 📍 Second Stop: Galaxie Diner Address: 1413 11 St SW, Calgary, AB T2R 1G7 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Why Go: A super charming American-style brunch spot with a retro 70s vibe 🍳☕. While Montreal is known for brunch, this place has its own unique flair! Heads-up: The space is small with an open kitchen, so there’s a noticeable cooking smell. If that bothers you, maybe skip it. Bonus: There’s a fun Coca-Cola-themed grocery store next door — perfect for some vintage American-style photos! 🥤📸 📍 Third Stop: CrossIron Mills You can’t come to Calgary without some shopping! 🛍️ With only 5% tax, it’s a dream 😍. This huge mall has over 200 stores, with a great selection of sportswear brands. Personal favorite: JD Store — a cool multi-brand shop with really stylish sneakers (made me feel like Montreal’s shoe game is weak 😅). Also loved the Adidas collection! 👟✨ 🏨 Hotel: The Westley Hotel We stayed at this newly renovated Hilton-affiliated 4-star hotel. Why we chose it: Clean, modern, and very Instagram-friendly — every corner is photo-ready! 📷❤️ ❌ Cons: Hot water wasn’t very hot 🚿 No slippers, toothbrush, or toothpaste provided — bring your own! No free parking — we used a public lot next door for ~$30/day 🅿️ ✅ Pros: Great downtown location Extremely photogenic — perfect for content creators! 📸 #CalgaryTravel #ShopInCalgary #BrunchGoals #InstaHotel #LowTaxShopping #TravelCanada 🌆🛍️🍳
