🇨🇦 Edmonton’s New Soup Dumpling Spot: Michellin-Trained Chef
Came across this new xiaolongbao restaurant on Instagram — their big sell is that the chef previously worked at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Hong Kong 🍽️✨. I decided to try it during their soft opening! 📍 Located on Whyte Ave, in the former space of the now-closed Top One Dim Sum. ⏳ Waited in line for 40 minutes — not too bad for a soft opening, BUT there were many empty tables inside that weren’t being seated. They only started seating more people halfway through our meal… so clearly those tables weren’t reserved. We ordered: 🥟 Soup Dumplings (Xiaolongbao) 🍗 Fried Pork Chop 🫓 Signature Scallion Pancake 🍜 Zhajiangmian (Noodle with Soybean Paste) 🐖 Pork Potstickers Honest thoughts: ✅ Xiaolongbao & potstickers were okay. ❌ Scallion pancake had barely any flavor. ❌ Fried pork chop was just… meh. 📋 Their menu is pretty extensive, but everything we tried tasted somewhat bland. 💡 Maybe they should focus on perfecting a few dishes instead? Overall, I probably won’t go back 🙊. If you’re curious, maybe make a reservation — or wait till they’re more established. #EdmontonEats #HanjanYEG #KoreanFood #FoodReview
